The Redmi Pad 2 looks a lot like the previous models - it's an aluminum tablet with a glass cover on top of its 11-inch display. The sides are flat, while the corners are nicely rounded for both comfortable handling and aesthetic reasons.
The 11" LCD screen has about 1cm thick bezels, allowing you to hold the tablet without your fingers obstructing the display.
The back is all metal with a frosted finish. It is fingerprint and smudge-resistant. There is a jutting-out camera housing here, which covers the 8MP rear camera. There is no flash.
The short sides of the Redmi Pad 2 house the four Dolby Atmos speakers, plus the USB-C port and the 3.5mm audio jack.
One of the long sides has the power and volume keys, a microphone, and the ejectable microSD card tray. If you opt for the cellular model, this tray will support up to two nano-SIM cards.
The Redmi Pad 2 is a reasonably sized tablet with an excellent grip, smudge-resistant design, and a solid build. We liked it a lot, and we had no issues with its build and overall handling.
Xiaomi has launched three optional accessories for this Redmi Pad 2.
The first one is the Redmi Smart Pen with two customizable buttons. It recharges via a USB-C port and works great. There are no magnets on the Redmi Pad 2, though, so there is no way to stick it on the tablet.
The Redmi Pad 2 Case is as good as these cases come and it can support the tablet in two different ways. But there is no holder for the pen here either, which is a missed opportunity.
Finally, you can also buy a dedicated Pad 2 glass protector for the screen.
