I love the materials used , the specs and of course the sexiness but as most of the comments mentioned already. its becoming to huge.

i think the best size screen size for a smartphone is around 3.7-4.0 inch. anything bigger than that is pushing into tablet territory.

keep the specs but trim down the width. i hope moto makes a junior version of this. not all hands/palms will comfortable holding this.

Piotrek, 31 Oct 2011What is that Super AMOLED Advanced display? Is it still PenTile? What's the difference?it's the same display on GS1 and Nexus G, so yes it's PenTile.

But it shouldn't be the problem tho.

for Non-US residents, not needed to compare this with SGS2 coz motorola has the worst customer support out of US and they can never even touch the sales of Samsung in non-US markets....whatever good they will make, they will forget about it in a month to release another phone for ICS and update this maybe after an year or so...good luck Moto fans

i love competition and real challengers. this device is now the best in the world: brand, software, harware, design, buid quality, mateials. but this should not be possible without the challange of samsung galaxy s2, iphone 4s, sony-ericsson xperia arc.

SMASHING DEVICE!!! the best smartphone today by far, because it is making same great stuff like Samsung Galaxy s2 and more, but with superb design, with real buid quality with serious metal and glass structure. the only smartphone wich overtake for good iphone 4s in every row of specs

my take on this phone:

Pros:

Awesome res screen
Best battery out there on a smart phone
competitive CPU with the SGS2 and iPhone 4S
Thin as
light as
Carbon fibre!! As in Kevlar!! not just a print

Cons

Its waaaay to BIG. im sorry but size on a mobile is important. You really would look like a massive tool pulling this out infront of a girl etc..
Too serious to be sexy.
Get a tablet at this end of the market. Look i love my SGS2 screen.. but its pretty hearty sized.. Im using an iPhone 4GS as well.. and man it just so much sexier - even though its issing a few features of the android.. (get SPB Shell!! SO GOOD!!) I love the pull down of the Android menu.

Anyway went off topic, the motorola does look interesting, has really nice specs and the battery and screen are awesome from the sounds of it, but, its getting a little large for me to take it seriously.. maybe if I was 15 instead of 30 id be into it.

As my friend said to me today: Motorola? Really?

If you do require mobility however, definitely consider the 22 inch.

and for the next year, a quad core? i know there isn't many apps for dual core anyway.

moto razr is just another iphone wanna be powered by google...yet, it has not updated to its lastest android. Even HTC took a long time of updating their customer's os.

more people buy the smartphones that's for sure...but, those who already own the one, like myself, expecting a fresh, innovative and something new stuff.

Apple fanboys might say siri is the thing, but hey you know that it was nothing new after all....

Gees, how tight do some of you guys wear your jeans or how small are your hands for you to keep complaining about a phone with a 4.3 in screen? Complaints should be for phones with small screens and wasted space around that screen. Gaming, web browsing, watching movies are all better on a large screen. Or maybe I'm wrong and I should replace my 55 in TV with a 22 in.

Hmmmm...
I have to say (owner of a GS2 but no particular loyalty to Sammy) that next year is going to be an amazing year to upgrade...

You'll have...

a) the successor to Lumia 800
b) hopefully an Xperia Play 2
c) GS3
d) Razor+ (of some description)
e) iphone 5 (if you're a bit backwards)
f) HTC Evo / Sensation 2
g) SonyE Arc 2

Now then... who will win the specs race? Or will form factor become the most important area as specs start to plateau?

To be honest, my GS2 now is at a level that all Android phones should / will be next year - anything above this really and you're not going to see much of an improvement (it's fast, smooth and it delivers against anything you throw at it) BUT it looks boring...

Now what we want to see is innovative handset designs...

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2011And yet the iPhone 4S weighs more than the Razr, even though Motorola put kevlar and steel on ... moreWhile some might compare the Razr to the iPhone, it is my feeling that Motorola have Samsung square in their sights with the Razr, hence the tech specs seemingly challenging key points of the SGS2 and Nexus, such as 'slimmest' and Super AMOLED Advanced, key selling points of the Samsung.

The reason for my thinking is that, the Razr would appeal more to Samsung customers with their thirst for tech specs, and that search for the Android King Phone, as opposed to iPhone buyers who buy more for the user experience.

Only the first model, and the Google backing is already beginning to show results. Motorola will have more in store soon, and SGS3 is months away. Plenty of time for a new set of flamewars, the Android King flame wars lol.

I'm hoping the camera is a lot better than the Droid Bionic's. If it is, no sale from me. That camera is the worst on any of todays smartphones.

ozkaan, 27 Oct 2011ROFL another ginormous phone, this one is even bigger than the already too large Galaxy S II..... moreAnd yet the iPhone 4S weighs more than the Razr, even though Motorola put kevlar and steel on it. Did you know that the actual mass of the Razr is less than iPhone 4? Iphone is a good bit thicker than the Razr. Personally i would choose the flat Razr so i doesn't look like i have pack of cigarettes in my pocket like the iPhone.

Good specs, good materials but another HUGE brick. How much bigger are they going to make these? They make them bigger and uglier with every model. Design-wise these phones will be a joke in the future.
