Huawei Android Firmware Updates Rumors

Back in August Huawei announced a roadmap for EMUI 10 Beta – the new version of its phone software based on Android 10. The company now has a roadmap for the release of the stable version, which also lists more phones.

Roadmap shows when Huawei and Honor phones will get the Android 10 update

Things will kick off after the global launch of the Huawei Mate 30, which may come with Android 10 out of the box, but without Google Play Services. However, the existing phones waiting to be updated to EMUI 10 will get to keep Play Services.

Here’s the roadmap. Huawei and Honor flagships released since late 2018 will get EMUI 10 by the end of this year, older flagships and premium mid-rangers will have to wait until next year.

November Huawei P30
Huawei P30 Pro
December Huawei Mate 20
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Huawei Mate 20 RS
Huawei Mate 20 X
Honor 20
Honor View 20
Honor 20 Pro
March 2020 Huawei P30 lite
Huawei P20 series
Huawei Mate 10 series
Q2 2020 Other models

Note that it’s not clear if the US will try to interfere with the rollout of the OTA updates. We’ll find out next month.
