I noticed that there is no more options to turn off fast charging! I wanted to use the black charger that came with, and I was looking for the setting to turning it off to avoid adding stress to the battery. My experience is it's there on my wife's S7 Edge that I turned off for her. I don't know if it's three same for the S8.
Sneaky, Samsung. Really sneaky. What this means is they're trying to ruin the battery faster just in time for next year's model. So, it's fast charging all the time unless you use a non-fast charging one. I've been using the Aukey multi-USB port charger at home (avoiding the fast charging port), and using a regular powerbank.
My friend fast charging his Note 4 every morning ruined the battery in 12 months. All he had to do was buy a new battery to replace. Here we have a sealed one in the Note8. Really sneaky.

Why wait if can have it now? Nobody knows, maybe tomorrow you will not be with us anymore. What is the use of waiting?
So grab it now while you are still alive.
Aircrackng, 14 Oct 2017No one can tell you how you should feel... it's just some of the opinion based statements youv... moreLogic served. Thank you.
I know the fact that "wireless" charging is inefficient and slow (even "fast wireless"), yet Mr. Tech and most believe it's "convenient", however adds additional stress with more heat to the charging of a battery. He falsely stated that he can fully charge within an hour. I happen to have used inductive charging before, and have read facts about how it works, and pointed that out.
I'm all for the truthfulness and facts. Opinions can't change facts.
Tech.Chief, 14 Oct 2017Yes I understand your point and I'm not arguing BUT at least I have both and have experienced ... moreNo one can tell you how you should feel... it's just some of the opinion based statements youve made were stated like facts, other statements were absolute falsehoods and have no bearing on reality and you seem to be just highly misinformed otherwise you are purposely being deceptive, which I actually sort of believe it's the former as it does seem as though you truely do believe some of your false narratives as being true.
It's like if I said I owned an iPhone 7 and the latest available update is iOS 9... that is obviously false yet equally as true as a lot of the things you said, but just because something may be a "personal truth" and you may outright believe it to be true it doesn't make it any less false as it can easily be disproven... again such as half the things you have stated as "truths".
Could you choose to believe the Earth is flat? Yes... does that mean you are Lieing? No, not if you believe that... however it's still not the truth.
You can choose to believe Android is the worst platform in the world, just as others feel the opposite yet neither is true except to the person who believes such... that is the very definition of having an opinion but to believe your own opinion to be fact... that is called narcissism.
if you'll always look on the negative side of the phone.. or you are not contented of what features of the handset was released.. then why don't you try to create your own phone with those features that you want to have.. every phone has its own uniqueness and weakness just like human.. nobody's perfect. if you are not satisfied on the phone that you bought.. well its your choice. its your fault, WHY??because you have all the information that you need on the internet to know if that phone is best suits you.. but what did you do? you just bought it because your friends have it? that's to childish. did you even research of the things that your phone can do or cannot do? you might be surprised if you just look deeper.. again nobody is perfect.. not even a thing.
Tech.Chief, 13 Oct 2017And how many times do you see such updates being sent on a regular bases?? Except for Android ... moreUnlocked devices have the biggest potential for having the longest support cycle.
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2017The Note8 is the best smartphone at the moment. No other has a Wacom pen.But some others can be safely rooted and unlocked. Note8 most certainly not.
iOS and Apple products are limited, and no way versatile like Android.
imRGZ, 14 Oct 2017This is a typical view of an android from an iPhone user's perspective. They won't come out of... moreYes I understand your point and I'm not arguing BUT at least I have both and have experienced both and have decided what I need.
There is an artist on this review site that states it is good for his work. I'm only stating that it's horrible and not practical for my work and can't use it for anything more than play - an odd $1k toy which I have to pamper.
So I'm being objective in my own view for my own needs.
taryx, 11 Oct 2017which one is better s8 active or note8It's like you are asking. Do I need a 4x4 AWD or do I need a sport car?
imRGZ, 14 Oct 2017This is a typical view of an android from an iPhone user's perspective. They won't come out of... moreHe thinks he has a better insight. I can complain about iPhones as the biggest useless product to me than the masses who would fork $1000+ for hardware we have been using for several years. But I don't go out to get one and flood the iPhone page with my negative findings. Mr. "Tech" seems be in love with Android hardware and features that the iPhone does not have, however he wished they ran iOS instead. That's all. He's playing it safe, getting both sides. He might be upset that iPhones still record in mono audio despite being 4K 60 fps. He's avoiding to mention that Apple render all old 2+ years models with an irreversible OS update making them obsolete.
He says he's already got the S8+ - there is no use in getting a Note8 if he has no real purpose for an S Pen.
Tech.Chief, 14 Oct 2017I'm not sure what "resistance" you are talking about, realising that investing in the Android ... moreNone of the arguments you have made are objective in anyway... I haven't heard a single argument that held up... most of what you've stated is factually false even... which is the only reason i responded in the first place... your making some seriously inaccurate accusations... the portions that are stated appropriately as being your opinions I really care less about it's when you make statements that are patently false that I've been routinely correcting you upon.
The biggest deal of it all is you are pretending to own these devices yet are making statements that are so wildly inaccurate that it would be nearly impossible to believe you.. unless you are utterly ignorant... you've went from saying the Note 5 hasn't received any updates (which is false)... and obviously not true... simply like your original statement that you said you were unaware of any recent security updates to the Note 5... again also untrue as literally anyone who owned a Note 5 would actually know... as we literally received a update this very month and have been getting security updates almost every month of this entire year...
Also your entire argument has equal and opposite contradictions.. which you still just have chosen to ignore... as though ignoring those arguments makes them go away.... which it doesn't... I've at least been responding to each and every argument you've made... you keep making the exact same incorrect statements perpetually... so debating with you has been made utterly pointless....
To re-summarize... I am no longer attempting to rationalize anything with you as you simply ignore anything being said... but for other people reading these things need to be said for those who don't know they should be able to see every side of the argument.
Why are we dying to get one, heavens is not going to fall. Wait for Blue and 128 GB internal plus OREO next year 1st Qtr. Price 650+. What wrong when you showing off your BNew, We must be having scratches and 5 months Old
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2017Buy iPhone, not Android. Why complain if you buy?iPhone is not an OS. It is the phone series of Apple.
Android is an OS.
Why do you confuse iPhone with Android?
It's like saying buy a "Galaxy not iOS". LOL!
Tech.Chief, 13 Oct 2017**FINALLY Had to charge it for extended period as recommended on first charge. Nice animati... moreThis is a typical view of an android from an iPhone user's perspective. They won't come out of the walled mindset Apple forces its users into and write these kind of reviews whenever provided a chance to use a different ecosystem. Everything, Apple does it better, always comparing android with iOS. iOS does this and that better. Everybody knows how an android phone works compared to an iPhone. There is no need to buy a Note 8 and start complaining about it lacking iOS traits. I see you have an iPad and MacBook Pro, the best thing you could have done is buy an iPhone X, instead of buying Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and avoided your pain of using an Android and expecting android to be a closed source. Simple, you like and want to be in iOS ecosystem, head straight to Apple store. Don't say my Note 8 isn't behaving like an iPhone so Note 8 is unworthy of flagship price....
Aircrackng, 13 Oct 2017Just a little reminder the oldest device now to get iOS 11? Is the iPhone 5s which was release... moreI'm not sure what "resistance" you are talking about, realising that investing in the Android Ecosystem is a waste of my money on the very short run isn't resistance, it's wisdom.
I have a Priv that was almost the same price as the Note at release. Now Blackberry says it won't support it anymore, same goes for DTek series and calls them "transitional" and "test" devices. The truth is that Only Google can effectively optimize its own hardware with its own Android OS. The competition makes them able to dictate what happens to any OEM running their software and even sabotage if need be.
Same thing goes with Microsoft; they started their hardware and now are cutting off support from some OEM windows 10 laptops/tablets. And you can't compare how well the windows 10 works on any of the Microsoft Surface line up with other OEMs success as Dell, IBM etc.
My choice is Apple - it simply works! They might not have the excessive gimmicks that people hardly use BUT they are highly optimized, fluid, secure and offer a degree of sophistication you can't get from anywhere else.
And even if you are a paid Samsung person with your new account (I suspect) I already have my take on Amazon Verified Purchases reviews from my seller.
The truth had to be told. Android users are the products not the customers. I need more control, security and peace of mind than that.
It's my legal right to let people know it's not a practical phone at that price. Especially when it loses support next year. I own a Note 8 and that is my view.
