Samsung Galaxy S gets an official Android 2.3.5 update, unofficially

Samsung Android Touch UI

The Samsung Galaxy S might be old news already, but it hasn't been forgotten by its maker just yet. A firmware update for the previous flagship of the Korean company, which brings its Android version number to 2.3.5 just surfaced online.

What we have here is a Samsung-written ROM, but it's not an official release so if you want to try it now, you’d be doing it at your own risk. Leaked ROMs like this one are usually relatively stable (or at least as far as unofficial releases go), but the flashing process itself involves some risk, not to mention that it voids your warranty.

Coming with the fancy I9000XXJVS name, the latest Galaxy S ROM has its build date set to September 8th and brings the SGS Android version to 2.3.5. Early adopters haven't reported major changes brought by the new ROM, but if you want, you may install it and take a look yourselves.

You will find the Google-translated instructions on how to get it up and running on your Galaxy S over at the source link below. Once again, only proceed if you know what you are doing.

hell... 2.3.4 isn't even released in Belgium yet. I'm all out of patience so I'm going to install this myself and flush the Samsung Touchwiz skin down the toilet. It is really disappointing that Samsung doesn't take better care of their +10mio custom...
