Samsung Tizen Smart wearables

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 was announced last August with the hardware to measure electrocardiogram (ECG) readings, but the feature wasn't enabled due to pending approvals from regulatory agencies in different countries, and it was only in May this year that Galaxy Watch Active2 got ECG certification in South Korea.

Samsung said it will activate ECG on the Galaxy Watch Active2 in Q3 2020, and the company has kept its promise as the feature is now enabled on the smartwatch, albeit in South Korea only.

To use the ECG feature, Galaxy Watch Active2 users need to download the Samsung Health Monitor app launched in June on the paired smartphone.

The ECG functionality can tell you about your Atrial Fibrillation and Sinus rhythm. It provides Atrial Fibrillation results when your heart rate is higher than usual but shows Sinus rhythm when everything's normal. And when the result is incorrect, the smartwatch will display Measurement Failure or Signal Failure alerts.

The Galaxy Watch Active2 will take around 30 seconds to measure ECG, but it is best not to use the readings for medical diagnosis and treatments. You should visit a medical professional for that.

Even though the ECG feature on Galaxy Watch Active2 in South Korea is now active, it's still unclear when it will be enabled on the smartwatch in other markets.

You can measure the blood pressure with watch active 2 in UK using app My BP Lab. Also it can be calibrated by proper blood pressure equipment for the best results.
