Samsung's Weibo account has started teasing an upcoming smartphone for the Chinese market. As you can see from the teaser image to the left, all that's obvious here is that it will be a metal-clad device - because you can see the antenna lines up top, if barely. The metal curves on the sides towards the back, supposedly making the phone easier to hold.
Samsung hasn't said anything about which model this is. The Weibo post accompanying the image only reads "the next big thing is coming". But given how many rumors and leaks we've seen about the Galaxy C9 recently, it's pretty clear that this is the handset Samsung is talking about. It's been certified by the FCC just last week, so its announcement could be imminent.
That would fit with a previously outed release time frame of October to November. The C9 is expected to have a 6-inch 1080p touchscreen (hence "big thing" could be taken quite literally), the Snapdragon 652 chipset at the helm, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage, a 16 MP camera on the back and a 16 MP unit on the front too, and it will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Keeping things going smoothly will be a beefy 4,000 mAh battery.
The Galaxy C9 will launch in China first, but will apparently make it to the US too, around mid-November. It's still unclear if it's going to land in Europe as well, or any other markets for that matter.
