Thanks for that software. Now i can my DVD in mp4 music. But can u tell if there is any software through which we can zoom the cinema scope DVD quality copied VCD ".dat" file format?
I need info, can anybody tell me does the x700 support chinese / mandarin character ?
Sorry I dont really have time to read all posts about X700, but before I purchase it, is there anybody who can help me with these questions:
- can we use MP3 as an sms tone and alarm tone?
- can we minimize the MP3 player and do other things?
- is the speaker okay? compare to most Nokia Symbian phones or probably SE phones.
- can we install Yahoo Messanger in it?
Is X700 can write messages /read chinese character? if can't, is there any languange pack or application can be adapted?
To know your X700's firmware version, type this code in standby mode:
A new screen of "test mode" will appear... select "version".... then "S/W Version"... This will show the firmware version of X700... While upgrade firmware from samsung service centre only.... don't upgrade it by yourself... I don't know the exact method...

dear usman bhai, how can i upgrade my firmware version.and how i know my mobile firmware version....plz help
To Usman Chughtai:
X700 has following advantages over Nokia 6600:
1.Much better sound quality ( stereo dual speakers with stereo sound ) than 6600 which has poor sound quality (mono speaker output)....
2.Good camera (1.3 MP with 4X zoom) as compared to 6600 ( 0.3MP with 2X zoom )....
3.Good Video recording feature ( resolution of 176x144 pixels upto 29 minutes long per file only on phone's memory ) as compared to 6600 ( only 10 seconds recording per file but can directly save into memory card )....
4.X700 has very fast user interface while 6600 is very slow responding phone due to Symbian OS ....
5.X700 has excellent PC connectivity through USB cable .... You can access phone's memory through Samsung PC Suite 3.0 Software.... and You can access memory card directly using USB mass storage feature of X700 faster than bluetooth connection.... While Nokia 6600 has NO USB port....
6.X700 has hotswap memory card slot while in Nokia 6600, there is no hotswap slot.... So, you need to open phone's casing to replace the memory card....
7.X700 has GPRS/ EDGE Class 10 while Nokia 6600 has GPRS Class 6 with NO EDGE....
8.X700 has 30MB free user memory and 4MB java games memory while Nokia 6600 has only 6MB shared memory.
9.Files received through bluetooth from other mobile goes to their respective folders ( i.e; 3gp/mp4 videos to phone's downloaded videos folder , images to downloaded images folder, mp3/mp4 songs to Music folder, ringtones/amr files to downloaded sounds folder and so on) while in 6600, all files goes to inbox folder of messaging....
10.X700 has 40 channels polyphonic ringtones as compared to 24 channels ringtones in 6600....
11. In X700,you can set any bitrate MP3 file as ringtone, caller ringtone, alarm tone which is impossible in nokia 6600 (as in-built) ....
12.In X700, you can secure all folders(including messages) by a single password that no one can open these which is impossible in 6600... You need to install extra software for that porpose...
13.X700 has stereo FM radio (with recording through codes upto 1 hour long as amr file)....
And Nokia 6600 is a symbian phone so one can install wide range of softwares ....
While X700 cannot play/show full screen videos/images.... mp3 player can't be minimized, no streaming files through net, you cannot view office files ( only you can save these )... MP3 player's maximum volume is lower than FM radio but you can resolve this by making louder MP3 files.... If you don't mind, read my previous posts on 17 october, 23 october, 2006 for more features.... or you can search my posts by entering “usman” in search textbox and press “Enter” key....
For normal usage, battery lasts for about 35—36 hours....

There is no need for EDGE setting... X700 supports EDGE service but depends on your service provider.... If they don't give you EDGE service, then you cannot use this service.... Read my previous post on 19 November,2006 (to PK) for this matter.... Thanks!

dear USman...as you know there are sOOoo many pages and it is almost impossible for me to go trough all these pages just to fin your answers which relate to my questions, but it is mych much easier for you to rely me directly...
To Prateek !
Have you completely read my second last email? ....I have given both softwares link (uploader and softick ppp) .... It also contains 5 best java softwares and vibrating ringtones for X700 as zip files.... unzip these files and use these.... I don't understand why azeem's post is unclear to you.... Which step is not clear?
Anyway, I attached these two softwares in my last mail.... save these to your computer....It also contains serial key for Softick PPP 2.21 software to use forever....
To Usman Chughtai:
Search answers of your question in previous posts BEFORE posting.... I have answered all of your questions on previous pages.... Read my previous posts.... Thanks!
Maximum 1GB and you can use any microSD (trans flash) memory card on Samsung X700.... But before using other mobile brand's card on X700, you need to format it....
To Kashif Khan:
The MPEG4 means “Moving Picture Experts Group Compression Standard Version 4”.... It is also known as MP4.... It is the DVD quality video format best suitable for mobiles/ ipod ... Your Nokia 6233 supports MP4 video files.... Convert your complete DVD movie into MP4 video files.... MP4 is much better format than 3GP.... Read my previous post on 7 september, 2006 for this matter .... If you need “MPEG4 Direct Maker” software to use forever, then let me know....To convert 3gp files into other formats, search “google”.... Thanks!

Someone asked me through email that “is it possible to show both contact numbers of sim and phone's memory separately on X700?”.... I replied this query .... I would like to share my answer to all of you:
Select Menu...Phonebook... Management... Memory Status...
To show only SIM contacts, select “SIM” option ... It will only show contact numbers present on sim's memory...
To show only Phone contacts, select “Phone” option ... It will only show contact numbers present on phone's memory...
This will resolve your duplicating contacts problem....
