dont think ill be bying this phone anymore since its £200 on contract!!! i can buy a real pocket sized 4megapixel camera with 4x opt zoom for £150. is a bit of a rip off!!! think ill go for samsung now!!!
does anyone know whether this handset's bluetooth is able to send files like songs and pictures over to other handsets with bluetooth? The sad thing about my GX30 is that yes it did have that function but,,,,. was only to be used for and only bluetooth handsets not file transfers! That was really annoying
dont forget, the phone doesnt come with a data cable, so u have to buy one in order to upload/download photos/mp3
also, £599 on pay as you go (pre pay). I dont really like the color though- top half white and bottom half silver. Im tired of silver!
Jamie, I don't know what you are talking about this "talk as you pay/go"? Do you mean prepaid phone? This type of phone is made for annual subscriptions only. Where will be no prepaid handset of this sort.
Like any vodafone V801SH, V801SA, V802, etc. is strictly software locked and is impossible to unlock to use with other SIM card other than that of Vodafone USIM card.
i would like to know, although this phone is exclusive to vodafone like the gx 20 and 30s, would it be possible, like the gx20 and 30s be unlocked or is it like the normal jap phone that cannot be unlock?
anyone know its release date fo the uk, vodafone says november but is is november now and there isnt one in my hand
Good fone. Does this have a tv or a tv tuner.
And what Are thsese new tv phones, how do they work?
Very nice piece of kit is this phone. do you have any idea what video/movie files the sharp will play?
I've read everything that is posted,as I am desperate to find out whether you can play divX movies on this 902 or not. If anyone knew and could tell me it would be much more useful than all the argueing you post.
GX30 is not a replacement of the Sharp 902!!! There is a great difference in the quality of the 902 and GX30. You can't compare the quality of the 902 to the GX30. 902 is much better in quality, design, etc. than the GX30. GX30 is made for the GSM (US) market because the 902 can't be used in the US, unless you are under Vodafone roaming network and pay a fortune in phone bill. You won't be able to use the 902 in the US without the Vodafone USIM card. It is a software LOCKED phone and cannot be used with other SIM cards. It is exclusive to Vodafone Japan and maybe Europe in the future.
yes they will take SD card size up to 512MB or even 1GB so storage space shouldn't be a problem!
Vodafone launched 3G services in the UK last week but 902 probably won't be on general sale until mid december
The older V801SH from Sharp (Vodafone), records in 30 minute segment, with a blandk 256MB SD card, a total time of 426 minutes is available. I hope the new 902 will give you as long as 30 minutes or more.
And...the K700 is only 3 mm shorter in height, 4 mm in length and something 7 mm in width.
But you cannot compare the K700 to the 902. This is a flip-phone. Look at the keys on the K700 and the smaller screen. It's much more comfortable (to me) to have a flip-phone with a decent keyboard and a nice screen than a krammed and compact bar-phone.
Ok, so I think you guys need to make up your minds. I wouldn't consider this phone "big". 10 cm's for a phone like THIS is a decent size and fits well into the palm. Good buttons, huge screen...if you want quality then you gotta accept this size. I mean, how much smaller can it be with a 320x240 px screen? And the camera and stuff need some space too.
Compared to other UMTS phones, this one does well.
If you want small phones, then just go for regular GSM phones like Samsung makes them. 128x160 screen etc. etc....but for this UMTS high-end phone don't expect much smaller.
