I had the HTC Touch Diamond and sent it back.. It was a good phone, but just too slow. Ok if you tured off the 3D software overlaying windows. But that defeated the point of having the phone.. Looking forward to the release of the X1.
Gururaj, 05 Aug 2008Hello, wanted to know if this phone has Handwriting Recognition?Pls reply. Thanx.Yes!!
I wonder why this phone is not yet released since it's been months ago since it was announced. Is there something wrong, Sony?
Wow, what a great phone.
But, X1 is thin so it will be quick to overhead ? am i right ?
Every phone that ive ever used is if the phone is thin it will quickly overhead...
So, is this phone will get overhead when i call my friend ?
Good day all readers.
I believe that the X1 will be one of the best phones (if not the best) of it time. Just by comparing the amount of Opinions received for any phone, only the Iphone has received more opinions than the X1, (6615 vs. 4095 –brief research) while the X1 is not even released yet (Iphone on the market for about a year now).
This indicates that the X1 is been tracked by a lot of mobile phone users (SE fans or not) and its release will cause a big stir in the mobile community.
I cant wait.

But still, I am standing with my previous comments until I hold the X1 in my own two hands and look at it with my own two eyes.

i have checked out some demo pics on the internet of the (demo) X1.
must say, those pics make the X1 looks cheap, in comparison to the official pics of SE.
also, the X1 screen on those un-official pics shows the screen to be very dull and difficult to read in bright light.
but i believe that the (real) X1 will looks similar to the Official pics when it is finally released.
Anonymous, 06 Aug 2008You have got to be kidding! The input methods on WM Pocket pc's is far more sophisticated than ... moreI know about all the input methods of wm. But, with uiq3, you get the whole screen to write which makes it more fun to use. Uiq3 can never match wm but provides a simple and easy to master handwriting recognition.
This is the only windows based phone I would like to buy...cuz it got the style.
You have got to be kidding! The input methods on WM Pocket pc's is far more sophisticated than UIQ(I own both). The Xperia X1 has a transcriber which means you can write in a cursive, print or mixed handwriting on the screen and your ink is instantly recognized. With the block recognizer you can enter characters using single strokes letter recognizer functions in a similar fashion.A very useful feature is the word completion-you type a letter and instantly get a choice of 4words(can be 8 with a reg hack) Word completion learns the words your most likely to type which makes for VERY speedy input.
Gururaj, 05 Aug 2008Hello, wanted to know if this phone has Handwriting Recognition?Pls reply. Thanx.Yes, it has handwriting recognition. All wm phones have it. But it is not that fun to use as uiq3.
