bluemoon, 22 Feb 2011pls help me to know if its good to purchase this phone .... m in a dilemma to go 4 sony er... moregood or bad phone, is regarding what you need. as of this phone:
~ it is good for entertainment - latest java platform, walkman media player, big internal storage etc
~ camera is surprisingly good according to gsm arena review - even with no af. some would also agree with that if they know to handle the camera settings (and no flaw on the camera hw/sw)
~ music or sound quality is unsurprisingly great according to gsm arena review
~ hanging problems are surprisingly not as much as you can find in many nokia phones,

Julian, 22 Feb 2011I was asking if 4.2 is very different from 4.1 because they look very similar.
About the BT... more4.2 is much smoother than 4.1, it provides more options than 4.1 in settings menu.
Also 4.1 will give error "out of memory" if u will use it continuously for a long time or if u open many heavy sites but 4.2 doesn't give this error.
4.2 includes many small improvements over 4.1
Overall 4.2 is a much better option than 4.1

abhi, 22 Feb 2011On cedar forum which opera version were u asking abt 4.2 or 5 ?I was asking if 4.2 is very different from 4.1 because they look very similar.
About the BT app transfer: After setting the system folder to read/write with hidden disabled, i was able to access the file in the SE File manager and copy to another location. But even from there, when i tried to BT transfer, it showed a protected file error.
I think now the best method is to copy all new Jar files to a folder, say 'apps' on the card, prior to installing and then install from then. For apps already installed, access system/ams in mass storage mode, and copy the .jar.# file to the apps folder and rename, removing the .# at the end.

I was able to access the ams folder under system, where all the apps are installed after setting the attributes to read/write and disabling the hidden attribute. But file manager refuses to send the file via BT, saying protected file. I will now try copying the file to another folder and sending from there.

Most of the files i have on my phone are transferred from the pc it... moreI've tried searching if there's any app can be used for transfering apps by bluetooth, but it seems it's only available for S60 phone, apps such as instantme, instant sis or xplore.
However an old thread on esato had this topic been discussed long time ago and looks like it worked on SE phones with db2020 platform (k750 generations). Dunno whether the same way can be successful for current gen phones like zylo.

i am in search of a new phone. i am not prefering touch screen types as they aren't suited to my working environment. i am researching in various sites on zylo, elm, hazel and nokia c5. pls tell me the best option.
