Sony care's more about it's customers satisfaction than any other company but unfortunately many people are living in a sort of alternate universe that is clearly not in touch with reality. fast life, fast cars, fast food, fast money, fast and rapid design changes with almost or zero benefit to the end user.
People complain about the bezel and old design..... Look up how many S8, U11 and soon Iphone X users complain about their screen breaking at the smallest (1feet) drop or bump. Their designs look beautiful and more up to date than Sony but it's also very fragile. I rather take an old design over something flashy that easily breaks...
Got my XZ1 now for a week and very happy with it. The camera is also of great quality way better tha the Z3 that I had. The Xperia phones had terrible post processing that made the photo worse. But now it finally stays sharp. The 960fps super slow motion is also fun to play with, though it takes some learning to get the timing right.
Screen is 1080p but thats oke, Had it next to a S8 and when playing 4k Netflix on the S8 and Full HD on the XZ1 you dont see a difference. Just like the S8 the XZ1 also has HDR thats supported by netflix.
In general its a wonderful phone and has great durability due to the old design.

"Yes. TYPICALLY, AFTER THE ANODIZING PROCESS, you can still see slight lines from the material showing through on the surface. With ALKALEIDO™, this situation is much improved. This gives it a shiny, ‘shimmeryÂÂ’ look that we think is beautiful from every angle. It is really challenging to create glossy aluminium, especially a large part like the full back section of the Xperia XZ, and IN HIGH VOLUMES."
What is ANODIZING ? Search Google yourself.

Tann Hauser, 06 Nov 2017Nah. Fiberglass, just like on XZ1 C. Most durable, nice looking and convenient. No, Fiberglass is NOT the most durable. Aluminum is the most durable. The best all round build material is Plastic. Plastic is very strong and enables great Antenna reception. However, Plastic may not be the most attractive looking or feel.
hey XZ1 users,

Aluminium design stinks, I wish Sony would go back to classy design of glass back just looks amazing to look at just like XZ premium. Before yall start on saying, "glass back cracks and shatters" blah blah etc, aluminium phones are prone to dent scuffs and paint chipping which looks beautiful to look at I think not, when you have no choice but to use a case to cover up the ugliness of aluminium unibody. Aluminium is a horrible material to build a phone with. It's easy to bend, it's easy to dent, and radio waves hate it. Glass just looks better, durable and stronger and it's becoming a trend now.
