1)xperia phones have qunovo adaptive tech, which means that even after two years the battery performance will be as good as new
2)Galaxy s7 is not the only phone in the world which gets faster software updates. It is something that every manufacturer is doing to its flagship phones.
3)we still are loyal fans to Sony because of front sterio speakers cause it gives a good gaming experience. And since it made xperia xz1 louder, its gonna be like 'cherry on the top'

The S7 has ... moreYou need so many gimmick then you go for it, I have my demands doesn't same like you. Anyway my Z2 also get 6 hours screen on time.
I also can disable unused apps in the settings for my Z2, but XZ1 is Oreo it have more efficiency and less drain the battery compare to previously versions.
Cat.16 is not important then why you don't use cat.6 or even cat.4? Fyi mostly I use the data more than WiFi, I don't rely too much on WiFi, because I have my data plan. Even my cat.4 is still fast and snappy. Your S7 can be even faster, but the XZ1 with cat. 16 rule in the Internet speed.
I don't want wireless charger that a gimmick, what I want is safer and more efficiency on charging. Sony listen to customer demand, they use the Qnovo adapting charging technology and battery care, even charge overnight hassle free, don't like any cheap charging tech to explode phone like I post the news before. I do love glass phone, my one is very durable and sturdy with unibody Aluminium frame. I don't believe samsung S7 will durable than it Active versions, S7 is even fragile than my Z2.
I do care stereo speakers because it is front facing designs is more ergonomics for hearing, mono speaker just hidden at back or cover by hand in real life usage. The XZ1 have improve the loudness, it is awesome!
My Z2 with quick charge 2.0 also take charging time almost 2 hour from 5% to full. I think the XZ1 with quick charge 3.0 must be even better.
The rest I won't argue with you,
those gimmicks too much doesn't means everything is good features. I change from Samsung to Sony because I know what I want.

Screen is only bested by two newer Samsung Galaxy flagships. Camera is still among best. Features are still unmatched. The S8 is just basically an incremental upgrade from the S7 and the S7 is far more powerful than 2017 midrange Samsung Galaxy releases. RAM is still the standard for current flagships, and processor is only topped by a few highend SoCs released this year. Midrange devices don't use last year's processor and RAM. They usually lag behind in power, quality and features last year's flagship by at least 2-3 years.
this is the most beautiful and complete phone they have made so far. thank you sony for this. those of you wanting to have a "bigger battery" go buy a truck battery. how sony sucks juice is not the same as your O+ or samsung does. comparing who's better at battery life by just comparing the size of the battery is just plain ignorant. you just dont know how envious those companies are to sony because they can put smaller size batteries in their phones and still run for a day or more. try that putting on your 4000mah phones.

Keep in mind that the galaxy s7 is a midrange smartphone now, based on my experience, midrange galaxy smartphones are badly not recommended.

The S7 has Device Maintenance software built-in that lets you put any or all apps you don't use to sleep similar to iPhones which is better than whatever stock Android power optimization.
Internet speed is highly dependent on ISP. What's the use of Cat16 if your carrier doesn't support it and your battery will die within a few hours? Most people prefer to use wifi as it's more battery efficient than LTE. And the S7 LTE is fast enough which is good for streaming full HD@60ps videos.
Highend smartphones have glass body for wireless charging. New low-end Samsung Galaxy phones have metal body. Which is cheaper now?
The S7 doesn't lag. Performance is barely any different from the S8.
Who cares about stereo speakers on a phone?
The S7 charges from 0 to 100 in less than 2 hours.
The S7 has tons of features the XZ1 doesn't have and even future XZ2 to XZ10 won't have. That's how advanced it is.

Without Oreo, S7 can't be fast and can't be save battery (Android Oreo helps minimize background activity in the apps you use least, it's the super power you can't even see.)
Without Cat16, S7 internet speed is slower than this one.
Without metal unibody, S7 is more cheaper and fragile.
Without SD835, S7 is no for power user and UI lag behind.
Without front facing stereo speaker, S7 only a mono audio experience.
Without 3.1 Quik Charge, S7 is slower on charging speed.
There are a lot more....
Anonymous, 07 Sep 2017Have you used any Sony phone? Numbers don't matter too much.Nope..Sony does not lag. I used a lot of Samsung phones but the smoothness of Sony UI is unmatched, even after several updates from version 5 to V 7.1.1.
Cant even pre order from EU because still not available for my country, and its rumored to be only "gsm"(aka stores that rip you off with used or refurbished devices sold as "new") offering here...Sony this is a big mistake, while the premium phone everywhere, but most dont want it because of plastic parts and also because of gimmick 4K screen which hurts performance.
Sony keep releasing phones every 6 months that are barely different/better than the previous ones. They should take note from Samsung on how to make a proper flagship smartphone. The S7 is 1.5 years old already is still better than most smartphones released so far this year including this one.
I'm not quite sure about the other things, but I'm pretty much sure that the XZ10's screen-to-body ratio gonna be something around 25to30 :|
I was expecting more and better from Sony tbh
SLIGHTLY smaller bezels. Top, bottom, and side. Why won't they do it?
A DESIGN CHANGE. I know they did change it, and I don't think it's ugly at all, but they need something new and attractive to refresh their flagship line
3D scanning feature, don't know how useful it could be, but for the average user, pretty much a gimmick
Smaller details: the SIM tray, Sony, look at the other phonemakers gosh. Antenna cutouts, doesn't look refined enough compared to the beautiful body
The goods tho: Android 8 out of the box, and I'm assuming high camera quality
Btw guys is LCD or OLED screen better now?

If you live in the third-world. Even CHINA almost use without cash and online purchase, I think you must from SEA, but definitely not Singaporean.
Sony, a company that nobody appreciates except sony itself. 1) Audio Department - It took several mobile phone generations before they realized that they have the poorest sound quality and very minute sound. Almost they are the most pioneering in the audio industry but it seemed that they are not implementing it to their mobile phonesl. As compared to the amateur huawei or HTC etc., they have the best sound quality and loudness that people surely appreciate. Well not until Xperia XZ1 was produced. This phone seemed to have loud stereo speaker. 2) Display Department - I cannot understand why sony used the unpopular WHITE LED FILTER. Display color is washed-out and it looks like old photos or videos. Sony claimed it to be SHARP DISPLAY. Oh come on sony, what engineers you have? See how the display in Samsung phones. - while the other phone manufacturers profited much on their large sales, sony on the other hand struggles as their products almost nobody wants to buy them. Go to the department store and just look at the display on their shelves. You seldom see Sony products. 3) Hardware Department - Always use outdated technology. Bulky, chunky large bezels while others are almost are already in the 2nd generation of bezeless OLED 18:9 aspect ratio. But the struggling sony still fight for her life in the mobile industry claiming that they have the best, like 4k HDR display. But there is no benefit at all except if you use for 4k movies. The fact is, nobody appreciated their technology except sony itself. - Sony already have the bezeless 18:9 aspect ratio for almost 3 years now in the CONCEPT LEVEL (lot of them in youtube) at least. But in reality its NOTHING. They might be having it as when that technology is outdated in the market. One thing I noticed is that they are in the failing stage and about to close the company. No more financial capability to finance the company. And cannot hire competitive engineers to design their products. You can't even buy any accessory in the market except if you buy online which is too inconvenient
Who'd have guessed it, loads of people whinging about the battery sie, of a phone before it's been properly released. Reminds me of when the S8 released it's spec & lots moaned about, how can a phone that is 0.3inch bigger, with more pixels (1440x2560 S7 v 1440x2960 S8) but have a battery that is 600mAh smaller, it'll be rubbish and I'm sticking to xxxxxx phone.
Imo let the phone release and then let the testers do the tests and the users give their feedback & we'll se what it performs like. No doubt the big brains at Sony will have thought about the pros & cons of which battery to put in it and for the sake of 300mAh less they must have thought one outweighed the other,
