Anonymous, 01 Sep 2014You have only "old reviews experience":) because you lack Z2 in your hand in real li... moreI don't read old reviews, nor do I care about them. I do write reviews for gadget magazines and get this stuff sent by the distributors here.
Premium money (not my words) means that phone doesn't cost 100$ and that people who consider buying it need to put some consideration into what they are spending money on, for which they should know unbiased review of both good and bad things, as no product is perfect. So it is important for potential user to know the downsides, so he or she can decide whether they are acceptable or not.
You can't claim that ALL of you are very happy with this phone. And like many other owners who are less than impressed, I am sure if you went back a few pages you'll see people who are dissatisfied with Z2, some for justified reason, and some because… well, because they just are never happy with anything.
Therefore Mr. Anonymous - while Z2 is one of the better phones in the market, and has some features that can't be found anywhere else, it also has its own set of problems, and a claim that Z2 is the best phone in current market could only be made by a fanboy or someone who never had any other high-end phone in his hands.
Hi, all real Z2 users:)
I am very excited to compare new iPhone 6 with my Z2 in September 9:)
I do hope, Z2 will be better!

Also - on Gorilla Glass… Z2 really doesn't have it, but if you go to forums of devices with Gorilla Glass, you'll find lots of entries where people bitch over that not being "real gorilla glass" because they just dropped it from xx cm and the screen shattered, and asking if they would get a free replacement…
Gorilla is stronger (by UP TO 4-10x from different types of other glass), which allows phone makers to make screen glass thinner and lighter, while still keeping the same or better level of scratch resistance.
Nobody has ever claimed that Gorilla is shatter proof. And certainly Sony isn't claiming that coated tempered glass used on high end Xperia series is shatter proof either.
If hit from bad angle, even Sapphire could break.

I have a very cheap one for my BlackBerry, just above US$20 for one year, but it covers only drop and impact damages, no luck if water damage or lost/stolen. Its more like an extended warranty.

Rest assured i will keep track on you still and i will not be the only one to request your new IP banned as well if necessary. All you have to do now is to stop attacking people who have problems and questions, try to behave like a normal person so people can use this forum in a constructive way, please?

And they dared to make you PAY for REPAIRS ?!?! What nonsense is that!? That glass should be ucrackable just like on other phones! Damn that Sony!!!
Sweet Mother of Battery Life! Stunning to look at. I love it, Really fast, Though the heating problem when in heavy use is still there from all the other Xperias, I would choose this over AGAIN
It's the best!I am using this phone and it doesn't bear any problem
Very power glass quality and nowhere it give the strength of gorilla. I got my display cracked with mild fall and the glass is fully shattered. Over and about service guys treat as accidental damage and I need to pay
Alfah, 01 Sep 2014using 2.5 A will not damage the battery?Never charged from 0% so hard to tell, and usually at night, so I could not be very precise about it given I never timed it, but it was around 3 hours. Could have been less than that.
As said I've never charged with original charger so no idea about that.
And for damaging battery - it might shorten its life by a few %, although I think that the regulators in the phone would adjust current to the battery so that it should not really affect it at all.
If you're concerned, use a lower current charger. Anything from 0.5A to 2.5A should work fine, just time of charging would differ. Don't try VOOC charger though - that one could burn your phone.
AnonD-279813, 01 Sep 2014Mine states 5V, 1500 mA. But I always use 2.5A charger without any issues.using 2.5 A will not damage the battery?

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2014One thing for sure: do not buy GS5 :)I would add to that to skip LG G3 as well due to lag.

For anyone considering buying it, they should know both good and bad parts of it, so they can check whether they can live with the bad ones or not, and as such make a purchase decision. These premium phones do have premium prices, so many people come here to learn what to be careful of before parting with their hard earned cash.
I do gadget reviews and as such a lot of stuff passes my hands, and I end up buying off many of these "demo" models, as I get them for peanuts. Z2 and S5 were part of my arsenal that I kept.
And I believe I have mentioned many times that I prefer Z2 over S5 in nearly every aspect, as well as writing that I would not dare to get S5 wet after seeing how the back was sealed.
I do believe that Sony could do a better job at sealing Z2, though.
