Three 5G

EE has already launched its 5G network in the UK, and Vodafone will switch on its own on July 3. If you were wondering what Three's plans on the matter are, wonder no more.

Three has officially confirmed that it's going to launch its very own 5G network in the UK at some point in August. Initially, this will be used only for home broadband type connections. It will be available in London first and if you sign up you'll get a router that connects to Three's 5G towers and then serves you Wi-Fi with speeds "comparable to fiber broadband".

By the end of the year, Three's 5G service should make it to 25 cities in the UK. In July, Three will announce details about which 5G smartphones it's going to eventually offer. With Three's plans finally unveiled, all eyes are now on O2, the only UK operator that has so far stayed mum on 5G launch time frames.

I wonder what will the latency be for the home broadband type connections especially in gaming and how exactly will this 5G be comparable to fiber broadband, more specifically what will the speeds be?

3 is by far the best value for money in the UK, especially for PAYG. My local mast just got upgraded for 5G, excellent!

Three sucks. The only acceptable network in the UK is Vodafone. It's a bit more expensive than the others, but for good reason.
