hi all i have the alcatel ot-e801 phone people are sking how to get the music player working i am haveing the same trouble press music player comes up failed try to activate usb comes up failed os is xp home cant find on the phone how to format the the card has found in a earlier post could some one put it down in plane english dummy version please thanks

Plain and simple answer; NO that will not work... This is a simple entry level phone that has an excellent mp3 player embedded and that's it. Nothing more and nothing less. It has no bluetooth and no IR so sorry that will not work. Still a great little phone for calling sms and some mp3 entertainment!

I want to buy this phone but can anyone tell me if it's possible to put mp3's in the memory card from another phone that support BT or IR(ex.SonyEricsson Z530i)and then to put it in the E801...would it work?Thanks

This phone now £19.99 in Woolworths, with 64mb micro sd card.However I also get the "failed" message when trying to connect with usb and also when I try to start the music player.Suspect the card is not formatted but cannot do much with it as it does not come with a SD card adaptor.

hi,can anyone help?i just bought this phone for my son but for some reason he can't download music onto it-keeps coming up as failed!any suggestions would be greatly appreciated-& it'll save my sanity as i have 1 very stressed out 12 year old!!thanks!!

I have also problems with downloading mp3 from my computer to the phone. (i have windows xp and several usb ports)

WOAH! The screen shows some Amon Tobin! I have ALL his albums! Whoever photoshopped that image of the phone has really REALLY good taste in music...

Eventhough I have this phone for almost two months I have never actually used it only to listen to music all day long and test this feature.
What I can tell you at the moment is that I am using it as mp3 player for 3-4 per day and another 30-40 minutes of talking a day and some additional texting and the baterry needs to be recharged after 2 days (1.5 in some cases).

does it take sd mini or sd micro cards i just bought one it says micro but everyone says it should be mini sd card please help me someone

Have you tried to format the sd mini card? YOu can do this either though using the included card readre or just plugin itto something that supports this type of cards.
Maybe the phone has problems because the card is not properly formated.
Also try plugin in the phone into a different usb port on your computer. Maybe there is a problem with the drivers instaled in the computer.

I bought the phone so I dont have to carry a phone and an MP3 player every where I go... The problem I have with the phone is I cant download music onto it... I connect the phone to the PC via the USB cable, and when I press activate USB it says Failed... If anyone knows the solution to this then please let me know... Thanks

No, mp3 files cannot be played on the speaker. Only using the headphones.
This is a big dissapointment for every new customer looking at this phone. But if you consider the fact how cheap the phone is and the fact that the quality of the headphones is good than it can be justified.
