I just bought a Dopod Pro 818 which is O2 Neo. Compared to my old O2 mini I feel the Neo is much much slower. I have installed the Omapclock software to boost the speed from 195mHz to 252mHz but it didn't help at all. Can I change the processor to higer speed one?

Hey rio

If you buy O2 at germany, the software will be in German, though you can have them update it into English but you have to pay extra, around 15 EUR for it.

Neo way way better than Atom, at least that's what I think

I have not seen the Neo in Singapore yet but it sure does look very much like the dopod818. I believe O2 objective of introducing the Neo is to save themselves from the inferior Atom. "Inferior" not by specifications but stability. I have been using the Atom for months and it has been hell. The software is unstable causing the Atom to either hang or automatically reboot itself. The clarifty of the pics taken by the Atom were worse than those taken by my old Nokia 6250. I have send the Atom for servicing twice but situation has not improved at all. My Atom also produces this very soft but high frequency pitch that drives me nuts. The Atom was my fist O2 and my last. I am now very please with my dopod818 pro.

Zoda......Thank you for your opinion, however, irrespective of the fact that O2 maybe a retailer, amongst other things, including but not limited to programmers, network carrier etc, same as I-mate. You are correct to say that they rely on others for their manufacturing needs but that was not my point. At any time they have had a choice to continue to work with Quanta and further develop Atom or to offer something that is not as original as Atom regardless how they chose to call it and after I-mate and Q-Tek they offered the Neo. It is just an inferior product to Atom in its features and appearance. What is next smartflip by I-Mate, 8500 by Q-tek and the “copycat by O2”. If these three continue to release the same phone with some insignificant cosmetic changes, who needs it. It’s the same stupid phone. O2 has more potential than that or at least should have.
