this fone could be an ultimate, but come on we've all moved on from 2 megapixels, at least a 3 mp would be good and the fone itself beats other fones in looks...

Well what we got here then whoever is responsible for the design of this monstrosity of a ugly phone at sonyericsson needs to be shot or alternatively, fired. Its the ericsson side of sony ericsson that seems to be the problem. it looks like narrow plank of slab with different types of spots on it for buttons. This is appauling it looks retro like something from the 70's Sony ericsson couldn't design their way out of a wet paper bag. Its on recently that sonyericsson have started designing some ok looking phones like w800i n w550 but im sorry to say this w850 is definately a step backwards.

This phone will be cheaper than w900.That is why there is no autofocus(even nokia n80 does not has autofocus).
I like the design.I hope it will be durable enough , like w900.

omg! Tis fone is soo lame. its look stupid and the buttons are so small but ther is empty space so why no make them bigger?? cmon se!
noting new at all, not even edge! same to all other new se clamshell. the same specs in all. only new design. and all you se fan just cheer because you tink this is good. if nokia would release such you would say it crap but when se release you tink this is gr8t. open your eyes and don not be stupid!!

Will this phone be released here in the Philippines? I hope, i really hope so...saw this phone in the movie The Da Vinci Code and it is really a nice phone especially the white one...I'm planning to have a p[hone upgrde and currently I'm using k600i..I am thinking of having nokia n80 or wait for the n73 but after seeing this...hmmm i think i'd better stick with SE only if they release this phone here in the philippines...SE hear my plea!!!

Does any1 kno wot formats it supports i.e WMA, AAC? Looks cool but i fout d l8tst SE would hav a 3mp Camera (but u cant hav it all i suppose)

your comment about N90 is worse because it has 1600X1200 is really funny. Don't u know that it is not even a major factor that makes N90 lose to K750?
look.. the camera is produced by the same company, u can expect of the same quality. the number of pixels WILL NOT MAKE any different in quality. It WILL MAKE different in SIZE. And that's about it.
Btw, this phone is really really cool, i kinda like it (although the first time i see the Cyndi's picture, i was like aww... its ugly), but hey.. when it is announced with its official pictures, it looks really cool and it appeal me. Very nice design, and it is very decent. I bet they are challenging Ipod now. The white version is typical Ipod

They just say that the resolution is 1600*1200 pixels, but in fact, it is exactly the same as w800i. It is like with memory cards: it doubles (e.g. 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 and eventually 1GB which is in fact 1024MB.)
But I agree, the screen should have improved as well as the camera. Also, wifi would be great.
I'm waiting for walkman version of k800: it will be a blast.

i have been looking for a new phone to replace my d500 as from a yr and a half of abuse from me it has started to die i was lookin at the e900 but it looks like we may have a new runner in the contest as i already have a 2gb pro duo hehe.. cant wait to see the real thing :D if it comes out in australia!

Beautiful design - the keypads are cool but why cant SE make one M-series like this? I mean a slide phone WITHOUT camera. MPs are becoming boring toys

i'm a user of se W800i n i think that it's better than the new se w850i...
just take a look at the camera of the w800i(1632x1224 pixels) whereas the w850 camera is only 1600x1200 pixels...they are both 2MP but the 2MP of w850 is like nokia 2MP phones...
think twice before buying the W850...
go and compare photos taken by the k750i 1632x1224 pixels(same as W800i) and photos taken by the nokia N90 which is a 2MP phone of 1600x1200 pixels..then u will see the difference...1632x1224 pixels is much BETTER

Design looks something different to all today sliders, for me is great, the walkman player v2.0 is interesting and camera is average ¿¿without autofocus?? 1gb of memory pool is great.
W850 is great walkman phone and design beats all nokias Xpress music handsets (the ugly bricks 3250 and N91)
