Apple working with Health Canada to bring the Watch 4 ECG across the border

Apple Smart wearables

The Apple Watch Series 4 went on sale today, but one of its best new features will not be available – the ECG. It received FDA clearance just in time (at very last moment, actually), but it will be enabled later on via a software update. But that’s for the USA.

Apparently, Apple is also in talks with Health Canada to enable the ECG feature in the future. The Canadian authority is seen as more cautious than the FDA, so it’s not certain that the feature will be approved.

Apple is talking to Health Canada to enable ECG on the Apple Watch 4

But that’s how it’s going to be. The Apple Watch Series 4 is the first over the counter device to offer ECG and it’s going to require a certification from the local authorities in each country.

True, though I don't think that makes it worth 400 to 500 dollars
