First iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 public betas are now available
Today Apple has made the first public beta builds for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 available through its beta program enrollment process. If you're interested in running the upcoming OS versions on your smartphone or tablet, head over to the Apple Beta website to enroll your device and then receive the first (and subsequent) betas through software updates.
So far, before these public betas went out, we've had two developer betas out, one that was released immediately after the two OS versions got official at WwDC, and the second that got out yesterday.
As usual with early beta builds, it's not advised to run these on your only device. Bugs may appear, things could be broken, crashes aren't unlikely, all that jazz.
Make sure you read our announcement posts to get a rundown of what's new in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. We also have a list of interesting additions, as well as a hot take on iOS 14.

I would rather not have my old devices slowed down and have more battery drain after an update.

Just installed it on my iPad Air 2 and it works pretty well. My 6 years old iPad looks refreshed, I have the feeling like using a new device. Seriously, one should consider an iPad or other Apple devices if they really want to enjoy updates for many ...

But the more they support old models, the more they have to do research. it is clear that the latest versions contain more and more flaws....
