I have had a desire since April and there has been some painful experiences with handset namely the fact that I was taking the back cover of 3 times a day because it would freeze and I couldn't turn it off using the power button. Which to be honest made me feel that I should throw it in the bin that coupled with the fact it was my second hanset the first desire chewed my ed card and overheated and couldn't turn on.
Well 2 weeks ago I got my Froyo update and its like I am using another phone no freezing and I haven't had to turn it off for freezing. It just is very stable and things are tuning smooth. So for me its like a new phone. The only pain is that the battery life has not got better. I am liking Htc again but to be honest I will have to think twice about then when I get my upgrade next March.

i was going to buy an desire this week
i heard about the desire hd aka ace will be released in a few month
will it be something i should wait for or its only difference is a
nice phone (the hardware) but some things in SenseUI should be polished (some are better than in Touch Wiz 3.0 in Galaxy S, some not). Android is still unfunctional in sense of lacko of contacts and calendar integration. I cannot add a reminder to CALL Susan, just by clicking Susan in contacts. I have to type Susan's phone number from my memory (my head or a piece of paper) instead of select it from contacts. Old Nokia s40 series had this 5 years ago. The same Palm about 9 years ago. Shame on Google.
Kitty, 22 Aug 2010It doesn't delete any of your stuff and it now opens things a hell of a lot quicker. Thanks for the reply Kitty. Yes I know it's much quicker than 2.1, I just hope it speeds up the Sense UI as sometimes I notice abit of lag.
I really want to know about 'Random reboot' problem in desire..this is the only thing about which i am really worried.I am planning to buy this phone. Or should I go with the legend?
