ADAM, 30 May 2010do not buy this phone, the phone has a bug that keeps something running in the background and ... moreGet a task manager. I've had mine a couple of days and already figured that a task manager is actually needed. To me that is the one flow that I'd like to see solved through updates, but I'd choose the desire over and over again. Just dumped my N97 which used to crush and freeze up to 8 times a day. This is luxury compared to the N97.
can someone tell me why is no reviev of HTC EVO on gsm arena.... its a monster of phone.... built by htc for sprint network.. but i cant find it or here or on htc oficial website... wtf why???
I read on an article saying Desire may get the latest OS Android 2.2 Froyo. This update turns your Desire to a wifi router, sharing your 3G access via wifi...FINALLY!!

well guys, i'm not happy after 2 days of using desire......Battery run out quickly and charging takes up to 3hrs, voice in video recording is totally bad, speaker voice quality is bad, & didn't expect that big.i dont know what else
I've owned my Desire for two weeks now and whilst not a smartphone virgin I'm still learning its quirks. My previous personal phone is a SE w890 which to a point still works, a good little phone, reasonable camera easy to use and 'okay' battery life. My work phone is an o2 Serra (HTC Raphael) my third Windows mobile and and a frustrating piece of sh1t:-( I've even gone back to a stock rom to make it usable). Anyway my Desire...
It's a good phone, several android issues like multitasking - does everything stay open in the background? (tip- load a task killing app)
As you probably already know it's got a good display, not too brilliant outside but usable. Speed – well no complaints at all, it's fine. The capacitive screen works well, even the text prediction. Phone use, no complaints either. Speaker quality is good, the person on the other end sounds okay to me. Loudspeaker is a bit weak – a bit like my Garmin Sat nav... it just needs to be slightly bigger. (Bigger speaker = bigger phone?) I'm a little undecided about the camera, it's okay, flash gives a bit too much 'white' eye, but outdoors it's ok. Reliability, well after two weeks use it's not crashed, slowed down or hung on me – it just works, reception seems okay too, no better or worse than my other phones.
One slight issue for me, I've receiving my Three fair usage warning after just over one week, normal web pages are surprising large:-)
Other peoples complaints:
Battery life – I've found this okay, I've used a smart phone for several years now, so I know to charge it every night. However, someday's I've only used it for maybe 2-3 texts, a couple calls and a few Facebook or Twitter updates and I'm coming home with 70% battery left. To me that's not bad for the size of screen.
Size wise it's fine, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering such a big phone after a tiny se, but it's reasonably slim and it's fine. The screen with buttons below are perfect.
How it could be improved...well nothing major, a few android issues like app atorage – resolved in v2.2 I believe. HD Video recording - I had been looking at the Vivaz, a phone of this spec should really record in HD and at a decent frame rate too. Headphones – the supplied ones aren't brilliant, the normal Sony buds I use with my ipod make the music jump:-( Radio doesn't show rds either (is that been really picky?)
Ive had my desire for 3 days now and think the battery life is actually good as long as you turn wifi off when out and about, brightness is set at a good level, camera is good and call quality is decent too
