This phone is really spectacular, but I have a question for those who have this. Does the battery life really stays 14h on average daily? If not maybe there is a defect with my handset. Thanks in advance for those who can help me about this.

In reviews I've read that... moreThis applies only to the home screens. The home screens are in portrait orientation when the keyboard is retracted. If you open the keyboard, the home screens will switch to landscape. The home screens will not switch to landscape if you turn the phone sideways.
In most other apps like the browser or YouTube, it will switch to landscape orientation if you turn the phone sideways (without needing to open the keyboard). There are some instances where the display is only in portrait or only on in landscape and that is application specific. For instance, if you play Angry Birds, it will always be in landscape.

In reviews I've read that... moreHi myho, I typing this on my own HTC desire Z as we speak, the keyboard does NOT have to be open in order for you to go in landscape mode to watch videos or play games etc. Hope this clear things up.. I've had this phone for a bit over a month now and there isn't any problems at all. Keyboard hinge is not loose or anything. Great phone. Nice quality. HTC rules!

The only thing I want to know, before buying this phone, is this:
In reviews I've read that the screen flips to landscape only if the keyboard is open/out... now, I don't really mind, but it seems kinda stupid to watch videos with keyboard open...so...does the screen flips to landscape, if I want to watch a movie or play some game?

AnonD-707, 03 Feb 2011Are the hinges delicate? ThanksHinges are pretty sturdy. I've had mine for 3 months now and the hinge mechanism showed no signs of weakening. I even dropped mine yesterday on to hardwood floor and the phone and hinge still works fine.

elle, 02 Feb 2011I am defo getting one due to there is nothing else to compare it with? in other words its the ... moreAn option is the Motorola Milestone 2. Faster proc but weaker GPU. If i was buying again i still chose the Desire Z, every time.

Can anyone clarify on the above does this mean there are there 2 different options for 3G or does this phone have/support all the above frequencies?.
Reason - I need a 3G phone which will work in both the UK and USA so needs to support them all.
