I have build and released TWRP for the Lenovo P2 (P2a42):
Rooting works too. Have fun releasing the full potential of the Lenovo P2 by rooting and taking your freedom back!
@siaukia: Also I forgot to note, that full charge from 0% to 100% is done in 2 hours. I think thats good result for 5100mAh battery.
@siaukia: I found this in russian forums regarding quick charge. Translating to english below:
Phone uses Turbo Power 24W, which fully complains with Mediatek Pump Express Plus 5V/7V/9V-12V-2A specifications.
Couple n00b questions: does it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0? Are they backward compatible? Can type c cable be used since the connector hole is same as microusb?
The phone is fast, well made and the battery is enormous (expect to have 75% left when you go to bed). Sadly, when the wifi is transmitting (i.e. you are watching youtube) the static noise in the headphone output is insane. The demonstrator in my phone shop had the same problem. Had to return mine.
RakanWD, 07 Jan 2017Your source please?P1 has been upgraded from Lolli to Mallow:
Mystery In-house invitation for beta Nougat:
Guys, lenovo is going to launch P2 on January 11 in India... it will be exclusively available on flipkart...
Btw, nobody said yet anything about very important thing for me - this phone does NOT have protruding camera lens! Which is awesome. Its even opposite - camera is a bit sunken in body.
Mxfx, 07 Jan 2017is the 64 GB version only in china (Asia) region iam from the middle east
your advices pleaseYes, 64Gb version is only for China. Rest of the world have 32Gb.
But you can get a SDCard 64Gb or 128Gb and make it internal storage.
No, there is no IR blaster on P2.
Regarding wifi - AC standart is supported.
You can check here official user guide- https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_p2a42_ug_v1.0_en_20161213.pdf
On my router which supports AC speeds, my Lenovo P2 connects at 433 Mbps (on 5Ghz), I dont know if thats good speed for AC standart, I dont have any other devices to test. Wireless mode I am using on my router is "N/AC mixed". If I switch wireless mode in my router to "N only" , then Lenovo P2 connects to it with 150Mbps speed and if I mess with some other settings in router, then I can get it up to 200Mbps in "N only mode".
