shodaime zack, 01 Jan 2018need advice..is this phone good??overheat much??I am using this everday as my second phone. GOOD: (i) camera quality is excellent that i am very happy with the image quality, i think no other phone can compete, (ii) plastic design is suit in the pocket. BAD: (i) heating problem making battery draining very fast, if you like browsing internet may be only half day batery backup, (ii) facebook messager call in both sound and video does not work, (iii) glass sreen and cover protection difficult to find or event can not find it. CONCLUSSION: if like taking photo you should chose it. Overall advise- you better chose Nokia 8

I use 950xl dualsim almost 2 years, but in one half year have a problem, phone is over heat and always restat, is because update failed,make the battery damage and no one sell in my country, now i modification, use asus battery, little size, 3000mah, use the original circuit battery ( top of battery) for replace asus circuit battery, carefull do this procedur,you dont wont burn your finger :), this must have experient, now is back to normal again for half years. my experient update failed is left your battery last 20% DONT CHARGE and IGNORE BATTERY WARNING, go to setting update, touch update now, look if indicator bar update move STIIL DONT CHARGE wait until your batre +/- 15%, now you charge your phone,i successfully update now. Always shutdown your phone at last one a day, this phone is mini computer, mustbe shutdown ;).....

It having bad issues with battery and heating , nobody supports it , microsoft is refusing fix problems and is not supporting it anymore at hardware .... Nobody can find the trouble all the companies that they used to sale it now when they see it i dont support u they sayin ... THIS IS BAD . the worst of all they dont answer to solutiion microsoft only they saying is put battery saver close running apps , dont use too much time the wifi .... That phone was the most powerful from all others but this trouble now ....

Facebook messager call and video call are not working with this device ( 950 XL). The phone is also heating problem making batery draining very fast.

Super Amoled, his display is so magnificent 1440 multiple 2560 pixels, 20 Mega Pixel 2160, 3 gb Ram i think that is the first phone from microsoft is 3 gb ram and his processor is so fast 810 Snapdragon, corning gorilla glass 4, the battery is so great not bad, in my opinion it's better than Samsung iphone and other phones.

This is one of the best phone I have ever owed. No Crashing or jittering... smooth run through out the day. Even battery lasts long and Camera is the best in the series when compared to Samsung or apple phones.
I finally got settled with this device with update to Windows 10....

Idol 4S Windows has better processor, higher RAM, higher storage, better design, better speakers, doesn't overheat, does multitasking better than 950 XL, Continuum works better on it.
The only segment where 950 XL wins is camera and screen resolution, rest of the things are way better on Idol 4S Windows.
Just because Idols 4S Windows is cheaper doesn't mean that it isn't a flagship, not only it's a flagship but also it's a better device than 950 XL.

No matter how much you whine it won't change the fact that that glitzy glass bodied toy of yours can never be as durable as 950 XL. Not to forget that that lousy Sony camera sensor on your toy can never be equal to the Carl-Zeiss optics equipped sensor of 950 XL.
They may both run Windows 10 Mobile but 950 XL is a true flagship while your Alcatel is just a cheap toy with flagship like specs.
