That's nice and everything, but do they plan to support/update these entry-level phones?

HTC should re-release the HTC One M7 (or the HTC One DS) as mid-range device and priced it below USD 350.
I'm sure it will sell well.

AnonD-286474, 26 Dec 2014How can HTC compete with Xiaomi, Meizu etc when their price is nearly double for the same specs!!!You crazy? Their recent devices are of totally appropriate price. Desire 820, 816 and 600 series are value for money, the reviews say so themselves.

Despite all the hoopla surrounding the HTC M8, it is a sales failure. The press conveniently forget that despite lower sales than expected, the Samsung S5 was the second best selling smartphone of 2014 and by a wide margin ahead of the third place, Xiaomi. HTC on the other hand, did not hit 2 percent, falling from around 10 percent in 2011. The company is projected by analysts to fall to 1.2 or 1.4 percent in 2015. They better make SOMETHING that others want to buy so good move on them to try and push on the lower end of the smartphone business. They are a non-sequiteur in the High End Smartphone world.
