What's with your "ecosystems"? I have 2 apps installed from store: an ebook reader and Opera mobile! All the rest of "apps" is plain shit, rubbish clogging your phone
They should never have bought Nokia's Mobile devision, cause it ain't that simple. Now they write off the acquisition and need other OEM's to adopt the Windows OS. With Windows 10 Mobile that will happen don't worry. But next year Nokia will probably come back in the phone business, sadly most likely with an adroid phone -which will be the crappy OS-, but if Nokia will adopt Windows 10 as well, and be again THE OEM that gains Windows 10 marketshare for Microsoft, the Redmond company will think twice in the future before acquire something in order to gain marketshare. It simply doesn't work that easy.
This is probably the best decision they have made in the mobile market to date.
In time, I intend writing off Microsoft.
This week, will be loading Linux Mint onto my PC (partitioned drive), then adding Wine so I can load & test certain prog's., with a view in future of doing away with Microsoft altogether.

WP has been on the market for 5 years now. To this date it still can only show a market share of 2.5% globally. The developers have not been making apps for the WP platform, which didn't help the platform at all. In fact I believe it was the nail in the coffin (so to speak) that has put WP at its current standing.

Apple put heart in profit and products, others put heart just in profit and people sees that
What is the meaing of second part the artical ? Thay will not paying to nokia $7.2b?
We're still going to have Windows Devices with build quality that outlasts the middling garbage Samsung, OPPO, and ZTE Flagships are plagued with.
chester, 08 Jul 2015Congratulations Microsoft for killing Nokia... Elop made +$100m...from that deal aloneElop, the same guy who attempted to cheap MS into selling their competition? Yeah he did so much more in killing Nokia Microsoft cannot even top that list.

Oh well looks like they wont be doing well with windows 10 either. And maybe sell of their handset business sooner than i thought. Wont take chances. Really wanted to try continuum. Better to stay away now
Windows for phone just need an app availability, thats all ! People need apps to work in smartphones or its not a smartphone. Even youtube need to open in browser. Shame
As even blackberry has been forced to do. Makes sense for microsoft to adopt android and make their own high quality phones. Its the windows mobile os thats the issue. Not the phones. They make good phones. Nokia makes good phones
Well, up to this moment I still think that Microsoft has choose the wrong market to begin with and also lack of good marketing campaigns with phones comes too late to shelf! When Lumia still got the Nokia name in its back, where was alot of low-end WP( prices under $100, some just around $50), for that I believe if MS welling to, MS can bring those phones to 3rd world country or developed country( after all those are smartphone, and if you have the majority of people from those countries to use WP to begin with, it's the best MS could've ask for). I understand cellphone got its limitations because of the "patent" crap! But, it's Microsoft so I don't that it is hard for them.
I'd assume that Business was the Mid-Range option
sad for my fellow employees!!!
