Punisher, 03 Sep 2015So your reference is that gflop site which is not mine at all which is also wrong. My referenc... moreNope, that site is the one I thought you used as a reference for the gflops (where did you get the 191 gflops from if it is not that site? Your numbers, not mine)
ARM site is good, but they don't have the frequencies of the SoCs. Those ones you can find here:
Exynos 7420 (772MHz):
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Samsung-Exynos-7420-Octa-SoC.140007.0.html
Mediatek X20:

And if you don't want to keep up our healthy discussion you can just stop asking me things.
I'm just being nice to you by informing of the misconceptions you wear.
You are welcome :D

My reference are two things from arm website. 1.8 more and 40% less power at same workload so then tell me what is then t880 base frequency in comparison to t760 722mhz. Please stop. Do your stuff im gonna do mine. Be full of it but if you can go around me! Tnx

Punisher, 03 Sep 2015Please do tell me what the frequency has to do with gflops are already tested. It doenst matte... moreYou have such a bad written English it is seriously difficult to understand you. I'll try to answer your doubts:
GPUs can be clocked at different frequencies. And how many GFlops (Giga Floating point operations per second) they do depends directly on that frequency.
If you won't believe me you can trust this (I guess kyokojap is the gflops site you talked about) :
http://kyokojap.myweb.hinet.net/gpu_gflops/
The "Mali-T628 MP6" has two frequencies there and therefore 2 GFlops numbers.
Theoretical gains of T880 over T760 are calculated at the same frequency (or assuming higher frequencies for the newer one).
In this case the T880 is clocked lower than the T760, so you have to correct it.
But I start to wonder why I am discussing with someone I have to explain all this to...
I must be really bored today ;)

How adding 22 extrq mhz to 880 which it lacks in comparison to t760 would lower gflops on t880. Are u nuts??? Please explain that!
zac89, 03 Sep 2015Is this for real? Your calculation is corect? Damn I was hoping it really surpasses 7420... I ... moreMy calculations are correct "to be the best of my knowledge". That means that they are based on pure theoretical calculations and real life test/benchmarks can differ.
But in general yes, the expectations I have is that it will be worse than the Exynos7420 in GPU (or the SD810) by quite a bit.
Wait for the benchmarks before taking a decision.
And don't listen to Punisher, someone who can't infer that GFlops and frequency are interrelated must know very little of GPUs.
zac89, 03 Sep 2015Is this for real? Your calculation is corect? Damn I was hoping it really surpasses 7420... I ... moreNo he is not correct. We are only talking about raw power. And that is why he defends adreno 430 so much not cause of gflops but for gpu features which eats t760. But that t880 have features that t760 doesnt have!

U are actually right but other way around. Thank u for pointing that out. So in other word t880 is plus minus 0 in comparison to t760 with only 4 cores. Helios x20 t880 have lower frequency then t760 which in other words it do gflops much easier take that extra 22mhz to add on overclocking t880!
TylerGrunter, 03 Sep 2015Oh! so you can do math, I'm honestly surprised.
Taking advantage of that discovery let's do ... morePlease do tell me what the frequency has to do with gflops are already tested. It doenst matter if it runs on 700mhz or 500mhz for gflops. Its tested as it is at the current respective frequency. And 20nm compared to 14nm size. Gpu is already set!. So calculation are correct. 171 something for t880 and 191 something for t760 dont have exact numbera in front of me. 171 from
191 is aprox 10 procent less. I dont understand u. Why would u take frequency in this count??? When gflops is already set for both t880 and 7240 t760. It can onlt be something that ive not read about helio x20 as lower then standard frequency on helios x20 t880. But if u compare t760 generic frequency which is maybe higher that i dont know i didnt read about that to lower frequency of t880 in comparison which also i didnt read then what u say is just over the top stupid. That means that t880 is even more powerfull. But if its other way around low frequency on t760 and higher on t880 then u are right but i doubt it because t880 is more power efficient so i really doubt that. To clarify i didnt read which of those 2 have higher frequency
Anonymous, 03 Sep 2015U are full of it and i still dont like u. But to show everybody else. T760mp8 is at 191 gflops... moreOh! so you can do math, I'm honestly surprised.
Taking advantage of that discovery let's do the math correctly:
T760 - 191 gflops/8cores = 23.875 gflops/core @772MHz (in exynos 7420 and 14nm)
1.8 * 23.875 = 42.975 gflots/core for T880
42.975 * 4 = 172 gflops @ 772MHz
And now let's take into account frequency:
The Mediatek X20 is built in 20nm (not 14nm) and the GPU runs at 700MHz, NOT 772MHz.
So correcting the frequency difference:
172 * 700/772 = 156 gflops, exactly the 22% lower performance than the MaliT760MP8 in the Exynos I told you before.
Don't worry if you don't like me, in the real world that's irrelevant and I'm perfectly fine with it.

It cant work fully at all because of sd810 lag which have serious heating problems there for gpu doesnt work as it should be. And by the way t880 is 1.8 more powerfull per core then t760. Tegra x1 is only powerfull of that many cores it have. Per core its disaster. Most powerfull per core and overall is powervr topchip which is aprox 2.5 more powerfull overall then tegra x1. So yeah. Why predator 6 is game centric is has it all in a phone for the moment!!! And not game consol. But if u read about adreno 530 then there u have some serious gpu wich will work well with soc. Antutu shows how good soc performs overall. If it lags and have heat issue u can trow that gpu in garbage no matter how poweful gpu is

T760mp8 is at 191 gflops thats 8 cores. Do calculation for one core only and then multiply it by 1.8. Yeah u heard that right 1.8 times more per core then multiply it by 4 cores which t880mp4 have thats 171. Then u see my point how much worse. 10 procent only. Even gflops site did wrong calculation but that site did only write down per core wich is off by 13 gflops something per core. So yeah u do your calculation rigth i did mine. For further information about t880mp4 visit arm
Anonymous, 02 Sep 2015More cores, more ram, but what graphic intensive games can mobile phones run today?Antutu is mainly a CPU driven benchmark, so it is not a good measure for GPU, it means very little for the GPU. Sorry, but you are wrong (again).
And MaliT880MP4 is around 22% worse than MaliT760MP8, do your calculations correctly, please. While Adreno 430 is more or less on the same level than the MaliT760MP8.
The efficiency part we'll see when the Mediatek X20 comes to market, not before.
Grrrr. If only it was to use a top tire Amoled. It would be even better. And more efficient.
Supposedly has 4 speakers too! I've been hoping for more speakers on phones.
Hopefully it's 4 great speakers not 4 ok speakers.
This is intriguing.
