If you are a logical person, you would either return the device, or get the device checked if it is safe to use. So you're argument is invalid about what a logical person would do.

Samsung should be given the maximum punishment with Shocking tens of billions of USD Because Mass Manufacturing companies doesn't give a sh*t about consumers these days ! This situation should be made an example to the other manufacturers !
It is clear that samsung makes unsafe product. Im glad that i made the right choice by buying sony xperia performance instead of s7
Apparently the guy was on the mars for his honeymoon so that's why he didn't know that the phone has faulty battery and is dangerous to use.
sql.sp, 17 Sep 2016Interesting how so many of these incidents are happening in the US even after a global recall ... moreSamsung's biggest market is the USA so there's nothing strange about it. Another thought is Samsung is selling most of it's defects in the USA. Trying to take advantage of the American people.

The public is not slave of samsung that they call back there phones the people go running to them and give the phone back, arrange another phone till you get a replacement and then go rushing again to get the new one eheb it arrives as per the comfort of the company.
Even if they called it for a replacement, the user still has the rights to sue samsung for playing with their saftey at the first place. It was the responsibility of samsung to make a decent quality product at the first place.
What if someone would have died using the phone in a VR?
Anyways even though there were lot of news about the explosions and recall, do you have any proof that the user was aware about it?
Interesting how so many of these incidents are happening in the US even after a global recall has been issued. Looks like Americans just don't care about personal safety.

It was even in our local news about it, if you're so dumb to still use such device without contacting the seller or the service center, then it's your very own god damn fault. iPhones were also exploding and stuff and no one was making any drama because it was Apple. Even if it's exploding turd, if it's an Apple, then everyone has to be quiet. But since it's Samsung, everyone is blowing it out of all possible proportions because... reasons.
he's going to end up with worse burns now he's messing with samsungs legal division, and it's going to be fairly obvious they are going to throw back that he should have sent it back, and it's entirely his fault as he didn't comply with the recall.

Samsung mess up big time with this Note 7 fiasco but I don't buy these explosions on that dudes jeep, hotel burned or this guy's burns. People want money $$$ and when they see the tree falling, they want a piece of it
