Apple is playing the caught up game since 2011. I don't understand how the American media always want to put it as the top most innovative company when they don't innovate at all.
Sorry Sharp, if you can't beat Samsung in the TV game, what makes you think you stand a chance in the mobile field?
kris, 01 Nov 20162017 will be the year Apple invented OLED
At the keynote "true blacks that no one has done ... more"Apple orders 100 million Samsung OLED panels for the 2017 iPhone".
http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_reportedly_orders_samsung_100_million_oled_panels_for_the_2017_iphone-news-17792.php
so Apple will never invent oled displays . they beeg Samsung for this technology
Anonymous, 01 Nov 2016Oleds have burned pixels. Apple don't do it.I've seen an iPhone with burnt pixels.
Welcome to 2014, Apple! LOL.
Note 8, 01 Nov 2016I really do not think this pace of innovation with yearly release is really needed at this poi... moreI agree and understand+ now its worse cz of competition between companies who release unfinished and unpolished ( sometimes not needed) technology (like the modular phones...) in their phones just for the sake of innovation.
And i just saw the article you were talking about.
Wow copy much?
Raphi7, 01 Nov 2016I know its ultra difficult to bring innovation in hardware nowadays, but its still a bit possi... moreJust happened to hit an article just talks about our postings on future of Mobile Phone technology in DP Review Web Site...
Anonymous, 01 Nov 2016Why would Apple put a curved screen on a phone? It's a gimmick that adds no purpose or value. ... moreEhh, because of all companies, Apple is the one that relies on gimmicks the most? It's not about functionality/features/convenience. It's about being an iPhone...
They've always been like that (Well since the first iPhone at least) and always will be. But for Samsung bullshit like this, along with non-removable batteries is much more unforgivable.
AnonD-416078, 01 Nov 2016Can't wait for Samsung to copy this from Apple as well, just like it always does.that was a good one!
I hope Apple bring some innovation to OLED because current burn-in prone and wildly inaccurate Samsung OLED are crap.
Android users are obsessed with Apple..
ejrome05, 01 Nov 2016nah. next is they will sue samsung for copying their innovation. lolYes through time travel
Raphi7, 01 Nov 2016I know its ultra difficult to bring innovation in hardware nowadays, but its still a bit possi... moreI really do not think this pace of innovation with yearly release is really needed at this point. Three to Five years product cycle, stable OS and eco-system, provide value in service & support (and make money out of the same) for 3-5 years contract would be more prudent approach. Mobile processors are decent enough to handle Web Traffic, Media consumption and other features such as Camera etc..Too many iterations of the same product will create instability and confusion in the market and within the enterprise (how many versions they can support and serve)....May be slowing is not such a bad thing....But shareholders want more profit...there you go!
Onyxia, 01 Nov 2016Next year iphone ads. iPhone, with OLED display. Practically magic. LolLol well said. I love this
Can't blame them for making the switch. Just too bad the majority of Apple users don't even know what this is or that it has already existed on other phones...
I sincerely think there are too many people with grey hairs heading Apple. I loved Apple but every year they're going further backwards with more people becoming wiser to the fact. Only their loyal followers and brand status are going to keep them going.
AnonD-460807, 01 Nov 2016who want to buy apple phone....??anyone, except you I guess :P
Where is steve Jobs when you need him, long live the iphone 5...cause thats where Iphone stop making reasonable apple phones.
Anonymous, 01 Nov 2016Why would Apple put a curved screen on a phone? It's a gimmick that adds no purpose or value. ... moreThat's exactly it though. They looked at Samsung and said they wanted it too.
