AnonD-507364, 20 Nov 2017Stop reading at 3GB RAM. Sony phones are getting boring as days go by. They like huge bezels And what could 4GB RAM or even 6/8 do? I learned in the past that RAM has nothing to do in speed, and Android never used more than 2GB RAM.

It doesn't matter if it's 3GB RAM. Samsung took 6GB RAM to cope up with Sony's 4GB RAM, so Samsung's 4GB RAM will be JUST AS GOOD as Sony's 3GB RAM.

I'd take the 3GB RAM with perfect optimization over the 4/6/8GB RAM with poor execution any day.
Just say hi to lags and not be surprised after 3 months of using your Sammy.

AnonD-635604, 21 Nov 2017First of all, I think this is Xperia X1 since it has Snapdragon chipset.Xperia X will not have a successor. This could probably be the XA2, and the move to SnapDragon from MediaTek is a nice thing. Maybe Sony has decided to keep their main lineups powered by SnapDragons and their budget-orinted L lineup with MediaTek instead.

Force Majeure, 21 Nov 2017Sony never made a good, priceworthy mid-ranger. It was either crap, or had a 2300 mAh battery.... morePoor you, judging everything based on PURE SPECS alone. You underestimated the 72h endurance rating of the Xperia XA1's 2300mAh battery. Phones with similar battery endurance rating have larger batteries like the LG G6, U 11, etc.

And Sony never made a good mid ranger?
Let me tell you this. Xperia M5 is the first mid range from Sony with flapless IP65/68 rating (even higher than that headphone jackless piece of sh!t) with 4K video recording capability.
And what can you say about the Xperia XA1 Plus with its 5.5" 1080p, fingerprint scanner, 3430mAh-sized battery, and mostly its insane 102h endurance rating?

Bonuses, the XA1 series have flagship grade rear cameras. IMX300 was amazing on the Z5 series up until the XZ, and it's even better because of Sony's tweakings to improve it, and it can even take better pictures than some flagships like the LG G6 and OnePlus 5. Bring it in daylight and it beats probably all 2017 flagships in terms of pure detail and overall quality assessment.

Now go tell me again if those things are NOT GOOD FOR MID RANGERS.

Sony never made a good, priceworthy mid-ranger. It was either crap, or had a 2300 mAh battery. Motorola, Xiaomi, Hurlaway and all the other beats them on that, with at least 1000 - 1500 mAh, and/or €100 in p-RICE. :P

This phone probably a mid-ranger like the Moto G5S Plus. It would be nice to have front-firing speaker on this.

Daany, 20 Nov 2017There is no way the mirai is coming out first on a midranger... Come on, you should know thatIt may possible, just like the M5 back in the day, first sony waterproof phone to go completely flapless and feature hybrid autofocus, and it's a midranger

TomSeo, 20 Nov 2017No way sony is putting an additional .2" in a midrange like XAInstead of going 18:9, new phones will have bigger screen to keep same size when they trim bezels.

5" becomes 5.2" with same body.

                              Premium may be 5.7" 16:9
