It really does seem like a fake. Some tiles don't look familiar at all. I'm pretty sure it's a launcher or skin.

Bet it's fake.First on phone there are four buttons while MS requirement is of 3 buttons and none of the WP7 phone till date has 4 buttons.Second,fonts.They are surely not Zegoe UI/Segoe UI fonts.And as you said bypassing hardware requirement-limitation is painful to port WP7 and yes there are some good skinning engines+launchers.Don't forget WP7Android project.They have WP7 homescreen,menu,music player,lockscreen,almost everythi.

Couple of things...
1) It's got Android hardware buttons
2) The app list should be alphabetical (I'm pretty sure Phone comes after Audio)
3) It's called "Music+Videos" not Audio
4) "Browser"? Really, pretty sure mine says "Internet Explorer"
5) if it's a device for release this year, it'll be running Mango. That app list screen doesn't have the letter headings that Mango has

If you zoom into the picture in the middle, you can clearly see that this device has the Android buttons at the bottom, so, no WP7 prototype but either a port or a WP7 skin running on Android.

It is a launcher for sure...Because of many differences
WP does not have a Music Tile...It is a music and video tiles...Plus in the program the icons are not correct and so on

total BS. the browser, audio icons and SMS tiles are clear giveaways this is just an android skin
WP has an IE tile a Music and video tile (with the zune logo) and the SMS tile is called messeging

I cant believe you guys really posted this article. That doesnt look anything like WP7. The icons are totally different, the font is different. It's just a launcher on top android.

Just from looking at these images, this OS looks kind of fake... Also the buttons don't meet the WP7 requirements... I'd doubt this is legit.
