ldiotic law made by ldiots...
Truth is that laws are made by people who probably never drove a car or use chauffeur in their limos.
For them holding a phone is distracting?
Drive a car and try: open bottle of water, talk to passenger, change AC/radio(especially in newer car where you have touch screen) or do anything else, and tell me that holding phone in hand is "distracting".
As for texting? How the heII police can prove that someone was texting? Maybe I was turning on GPS or checking a time. How they gonna check it if they have no right to take phone from you... oh right, dont worry, In next law they gonna give permission for every common traffic cop to confiscate your phone until it will be analyzed by technician.
And all that "For citizens safety"...

And here is me thinking texting and calls behind the wheel were not allowed in the whole EU.
France ... took you long enough.
Those laws would not be necessary if a bunch of drivers would not act like rednecks behind a wheel.
Part of my job requires to drive to my customers and too often I meet incompetent drivers on the road. Handsfree and no texting should be a norm in every state and country. I don't care if a person not using handsfree hit a tree or building, I care if they hit another person, just minding his business until a car splatters his insides across the road.
Wonder how dangerous can be parked vehicle with a phone user texting. funny
I don't get it
If someone parked or pulled over so he won't be a problem and I think he still could talk on the phone, the car isn't working anyway so how dangerous it would be?
What if he stopped to talk about an emergency, if he had a small child who have some health condition and he pulled over to talk with school about how to deal with that problem ...etc

So if you make or answer a call or use apps like google maps with your phone in hand, then you will be fined if caught. If you use hands free methods then you should be fine.

It doesnt say anything about using maps on your phone. Even making a phone call while driving should technically still legal since they dont state otherwise.
If you drive and use the phone you are a psychopath with -ZERO- regard for human life. You are a person who would have no problem with becoming potentially a babykiller. Self driving cars now!!
