They got to maintain their portfolio as neat (or rather repetitive usage) as possible. Using SD625 over and over and over again cuts needs of redeveloping platform for future phones, thus making room for devs up there to start researching SoC's to be overly used on next generation. If it's not for the sake of the company's well being I'm sure they would create phones with various component configurations per generation.
Vic4BBM, 16 Jul 2018It's nothing but Mi A1 with notch, a beefy battery and bigger screen.
SoC is aame SD 625.
No... moreThat's fine. I don't think this phone was meant for those who own a Mi A1 anyway.
SD card slot is still a nice feature in 2018.

No point in going for it. I am happy with my Mi A1.

Kiyasuriin, 16 Jul 2018Mi a2 lite SHOULD NOT come with a notch. the existence of a notch= DOAWhich somehow the NOTCH simply destroy the viewing experience IMO. But Mi A2 Lite is sadly based on Redmi 6 Pro. I feel that Mi A2 Lite should have been based on Redmi Note 5 (18:9 display) to get even BETTER sales. At least it comes with a dedicated microsd card slot and a headphone jack which Mi A2 does NOT despite the slightly dated specs.
This option is not bad but not quite attractive enough to buy. SD625 is overused just because of power efficiency. We already seen it mediocre performance on Mi A1.
At least it is an ALTERNATIVE to the NO headphone jack and microsd slot of Mi A2 despite the slightly dated specs. Heck, I could even forgive the NOTCH as well due to these NECESSITIES. Even the upgrade from 32GB variant of Mi A2 Lite to the 64GB variant is ONLY $20, so it is definitely a STEAL IMO.
Listing info says..
System: Android one
Google Play: No
Hilarious.
microsd + dual sim???
If not a Snapdragon 636, it should've been a Snapdragon 630 instead, which is at least a considerable upgrade to the Mi A1's Snapdragon 625. At least the Adreno 508 is already better than the Adreno 418 of the 2015 flagship Snapdragon 808.
