Biological matter used for CPU's (this will happen)? Wireless power charging? This is feasible, maybe not today but tomorrow...
why so many here believe this is real? it's just a concept phone, what you're seeing is computer generated you Muppets...
OLED has to be refined a little more before we see any kind of flexible screens and to be honest it's not the screen that's going to be the issue here..
where's the battery go? to begin with we will probably see a small rectangle object linked to a flexible screen before we see truely transparent devices like that..
Scientists are working on batteries that are see through but the most they'd be able to power, well basically not much, it'll light up a small little red LED for while right now who knows what they discover..
last but not least, i'd be more impressed with plastic LCD screens which are made out of thin bendable plastics, you could use the natural sunlight to see your screen with and extremely power efficient too, a back light could be added for night time viewing but battery life would once again be an in issue..
but with lcd and a bendy film to hold the crystal solution in place, then I think that would be a win win and to be honest I think Casio could be the way forward in wearable tech...they have experience that could be lent to the mobile phone industry for wearable devices in the pid/phone range....
I feel like this is gonna be awesome, and for all you non-believers, remember, there was a time when people thought they could one day fly, and were called crazy for it. Don't be the guy calling the innovators of tomorrow crazy :)
20 years ago, if someone told you that a cellphone would one day be faster/more powerful than the most powerful PCs in existence, Im pretty sure someone would've gotten a slapped silly and told to stop talking nonsense. look at us now.
wah so slim it look so fragile@_@
This is old news from samsung but unlike other company's, samsungs screens don't show streaks or stretch marks and are truly indestructible...

And towards the end of this one they show something that may be the SGS3 ;)

here's the actual demo, for all you self claimed geniuses who thinks they know better than actual engineers. lolumad?
rofl @ all these naive nokia fanboys hating on samsung
nokia hasn't even invented anything
your precious company won't even be around in 2012, good bye!
AnonD-5449, 05 Dec 2011Nice imagination, but this will never be true, unless they make up some other power source and... moreand i guess you must be the most innovating engineer on this planet. /endsarcasm
I like that they are looking forward and not settling for the simple and plain...
Agh I wouldn't like a transparent phone so everyone can see my confidential SMS conversations and Emails...
AnonD-5449, 05 Dec 2011Nice imagination, but this will never be true, unless they make up some other power source and... moreTrue, but maybe you can put the tech to the corners and have a real transparent display, cuz behind the display aint anything, the tech is in the border of the display or something like that. And maybe they will find a good way of giving it its energy... I heard somewhere in Austria they research for wireless electricity thru induction over big areas... maybe thats the answer. We talk about future tech and future may improve more than just the display, keep that in mind.

Also, circuitry bo... moreyour post made my day knowing this may be real, but yes, I understand there will be challenges ahead to make this seem like a fantasy. I say what we see here may be possible within 10 years from now, by 2016/7 I would imagine what we call smartphones will be flexible materials where we can also feel what we touch on the screen plus with holographic augmented reality, the possibilities are endless. Suddenly that Samsung GS3 and Iphone 5/6 feel old already, despite not being on the market till next year or with the existence of one yet to be confirmed.
Actually batteries can be made transparent, there is some research on that. Also, circuitry boards can be made transparent and it is possible to use transparent conductor material instead of copper. Chips may still be a challenge to make transparent though and so would be the antennae.
not bad!!! Do you think that a phone such this can be S3?
I thought it was a real demo like what Nokia showed in Nokia world.
I guess we can all be impressed with commercials from studious.
hhhhm did anyone find this to be real? i can't understand why we make it such a huge matter
Nice imagination, but this will never be true, unless they make up some other power source and processing method. The phone can't be completely transparent since batteries aren't and either are processors. This is way too exaggerated.
For that Nokia hater troll (Dorian) I saw here, Nokia already had a working proto of a phone with bending display... Before Samsung.
Anonymous, 05 Dec 2011Lol bending is hilarious, I'd just like a phone that is actually waterproof not "Splash p... moreI think you have a drink problem my Friend. A friend of mine once used a flixiable transparent wrist watch so I can't see why this is impossiable.
