They are doing great on their own unlike Nokia who needs to sell its luxury branch just to stay afloat. Poor nokia. They have to sell their assets or they will go bankrupt.

Nokia reminds me off a college roomate. he would fails tests because if he couldn't solve problem #1 he would keep trying until the test was over. Nokia lost the smart phone market, so there throwing every other market segment away in an effort to reclaim it. ELOP IS A FOOL. xman

Nokia Sucks, 08 Dec 2011I'm a Samsung Galaxy S II user and I wish Nokia will go bankrupt next year and sell their pate... moreLoL if someone will but the patents (in case Nokia fail) will be Motorola with the power of Google, Samsung is sinking on patents rights, they have a lots of bad times about patents..

Besides, there's someone who wants more the Nokia patents and is making all this circus behind the scene...the name MICROSOFT hehehehehe

No doubt if Samsung were to obtain Vertu, the Vertu brand would be stained and the premium value would be lost. Because unlike Nokia, Samsung would advertise the hell out of it, and that exposure would make Vertu nothing more than a 'phone for the masses'. Nokia did well to keep it out of the public's radar except for the top tier, and that's good for Vertu.

I love Nokia haters, you are so predictable...
Just so you know Lumia 800 is selling really well in EU, in some countries (Netherlands and France), better than iphone.
Next week they are announcing the first windows phone in the US.
So who is here to go bankrupt?
HGH (haters are going to hate)

Arron, 08 Dec 2011Wow.. you really are a special person. The news states that Vertu makes a nice profit. corr... moreactually Vertu devices have nothing to do with other Nokias, besides some patents and OS (partially). If company is sold, then new owner will continue with same business practice - share with others only some patents and probably an OS.

and i'm sure if samsung do buy it they'll make sure they'll leave no sign on new Vertu-s that they share same DNA with Galaxy-S fo example. By the way Samsung does not sell mobiles in China.. They are called Anyphone ;-))

s, 08 Dec 2011Who would buy that company? It's a huge failure.Wow.. you really are a special person.

The news states that Vertu makes a nice profit. correct me if im wrong but a company which makes a profit is a failure?? i best re-think my life!

also i can bet you do not have enough money to purcahse a vertu phone, hence why u are on here trolling. p.s. i cannot afford one either but i do not goo around puttin stupid comments.

Back on topic, im not sure selling this part of nokia will create the ammount they will be looking for?? i mean which other major player would buy them? e.g. samsung. if i was a vertu customer and heard samsung had bought vertu i would not buy another due to my personal feelings that samsung phones have below par build quality, a quality all vertu's do not have!

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2011please read the article before giving out your not so valued responses..it is making heavy pro... moreIt's making a profit but it's not enough to offset Nokia's losses. Remember that Vertu's financial reports are tucked in together with Nokia's.

Nokia as a company is still taking a massive beating from Samsung and other Android makers. Nokia is bleeding huge amount of money and that's a fact! The company is now inching closer and closer to bankruptcy.

And all of this because of Elop. Elop is ruining Nokia. The worst Ceo in the world. A man without vision, or maybe this is the plan to ruin Nokia, so Microsoft to buy Nokia.
