wow...nice can't wait till the update....it is faster...
mid-range Galaxy Ace Plus unveiled
I hope the end product looks similar to the ICS on the Nexus, because this looks exactly like Gingerbread just a different version
waynepangXXX, 03 Jan 2012after i saw what sammy did to the galaxy s and galaxy tab user...I can see that the galaxy s2 ... moreShut up. My Galaxy S went from 2.1 to 2.3.5. I got 4 updates for it and I will get a 5th with the "Value pack update" SE dont even have a duel core phone out and HTC failed with the Sensation. The Galaxy S 2 killed it.
Am I missing something? Watched the video and looks nothing like ICS on the galaxy nexus. Looks hardly different from gingerbread. If that's what the final ICS update is going to look like, nothing to get excited about
Well, I have a GNexus, and despite its numerous failings, Android 4.0 and that HD screen is something you cannot get with GS2. Seeing Samsung's builds of ICS, apparently they want us to keep living in 2011; same cheapo icons, same big fonts (less data on screens). What's even the point of the upgrade? I know as a trade off we will also get Samsung's enhancements (smart dialing, FB integration)that AOSP build lacks, but after actually using ICS, you tend not to care about the little things. It is that good; it is solid, consistent and grows on you. OEM skins were a great idea for Gingerbread and below, but no more...
The worrying thing is that GS3 might have 2.5 GHz quad core processor powering a 5 inch HD screen in a 3 mm thick body, but it will still have the rotten TouchWiz (ditto HTC with Sense, which shows even less progress than TW despite being good once). Then, for people like us, the option will be to stick with GNexus or root GS3 to run CM9. Not ideal.
Stick to ICS guys, please, PLEASE release your enhancements as apps rather than shell tweaks.
after i saw what sammy did to the galaxy s and galaxy tab user...I can see that the galaxy s2 's future would be the same...will go for SE or HTC...atleast won;t disaapoint their customer or giving those stupid excuse to force the people chg to new phone
Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012Those admonishing Samsung for putting Touch Wiz on top of ICS better look the Nexus way.judging buy the gingerbread UI i diffinatly will be
Did I miss something or did that Galaxy S2 just take 40 plus seconds to start?
Those admonishing Samsung for putting Touch Wiz on top of ICS better look the Nexus way.
Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012amazing... but what about the face detection to unlock?? what about the processor speed, did ... moreFace unlock is present :) Watch the video closely at 4:00, FacePass is on the list.
Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012amazing... but what about the face detection to unlock?? what about the processor speed, did ... moreNot launched becasue it aint finished my son! "..the more stable one is the latter.." ICS ain't been out long so give'em a chance, Mr Sammy is still ahead of the rest and this is proof. Sence ain't no where near beta and well Sony.. ha ha they promise but will they deliver?... Viva la GingerBread, Viva la revolutional
Those who own the original Galaxy S are starting to feel the heat now. Sadly, this darling has to finally let go of all the immense love and tender care it has been receiving since birth. At least it will have tales to listen to from the likes of the Wave S8500(read ME) who have suffered neglect their entire life. Welcome to the club Galaxy S users-it seems like Samsung has better phones to think about now,and sadly the S might turn out not being one of them.
Who cares about the First Galaxy S getting ICS just upgrade your phone this year and get the Galaxy S 3 when its out.
godammit samsung! congrats on making ICS looks like crap!
i'm using SGT7 for a year now, and currently using an ICS ROM from xda (it's kinda buggy atm). ICS looks beautiful just the way it is. no way i'm going back to GB.
but this? i feel bad for google designers who have worked hard to redesign ICS only to covered by crapwiz.
How come there are so many leaks from Samsung?? Are they "Officially" leaking?? :P
