Well done mediatek you know you've done well when people have to scream out next year's 865 as defence

That ISP power is nothing I've ever seen on paper before on a mobile soc that's truly crazy

It only supports UFS 2.1 and not UFS 3.0, bad news. It's a pity because the rest of specifications are great.

Dimensity 1000 is a flagship SoC? I'm glad MediaTek is coming back to making Flagship chips since Helio X30. I wish Dimensity 1000 is as strong as SD865.

Well it would be funny and very interesting if the Mediatek manages to outrun best Qualcomm, Huaweis Kirin, Samsung Exynos and Apples or TSMC bionic CPUs.
If this happens most users will be rolling on the floor and laughing.

Long gone are the days when Mediatek chipsets were cheap underpowered garbage, this one is looking seriously impressive, especially around the image processing hardware. I don't think you can find any ISP that can process 24 80MP images per second on any other mobile SoCs.

Just one question though... why didn't they publish the GPU specs?

Mediatek improving each year, & this time around its really competitive. Slow down, mediatek. Because when u disrupt the market heavily, suddenly u will be ban because of some 'national security' issue with no proof.

Theres a guy there wont let any Asian country triumph.

AnonD-894375, 26 Nov 2019Interesting SoC. But with A77, benchmark still below the 855+ range?I think it should beat it considering the IPC gains of A77. Even the Exynos 980 should be close to Snapdragon 855. Theoretically, it would reach 3,900 on single core. I wouldn't rely too much on Geekbench since it's only a short burst. Sustained performance is what we should actually be looking at.

Anonymous, 26 Nov 2019inb4 Mediatek sux lol. Also, it has support for AV1? Nice.Surprisingly, it's the second SoC to have AV1 hardware decoding after Realtek RTD1311. Qualcomm, Exynos and Kirin haven't announced an SoC that supports AV1 which is really odd considering how "open" the codec is. However, I played an AV1 video on a Snapdragon 730 via VLC and it seemed to work (software decoding maybe). Nevertheless, it won't matter much when the encoding times are slooooooowwww and AV1 content is rather scarce.

The latter depends on how the device is optimized.
