That guy made the video to show how much better is Qulacomm S20 ultra. And you ignored that completely. He admired the the SD ISP. I mean they use the same sensor. So difference is only in ISP. Or do you expect to hear that one S20 ultra version is using duplicate sensor ?
Well, forget those talking thing.
Couldn't you even see that Low light samples yourself ? SD was much clearer.
Now I've read your AnandTech review.
After reading that, I don't blame you.
You also shouldn''t give statement from one reviewer.
Now the thing that happened in the review article is, The review has been published on April 3rd. That means the Exynos version is with the camera improvement update and the Qualcomm version is without the update. I guess It was the 3rd and major Update for the S20 ultra series after being released on February.
I haven't read the article(anadtech) yet. But I have seen comparison of Updated exynos vs dated SD comparison. Exynos had better HDR, could handle sun and lights very well, does better in tricky condition. Even though it wasn't better in Low light.
Let's see what your anadtech review says. I'll get back to you afterwards.

I watched the video you linked and all he says in the camera section is "It seems that the snapdragon camera brain is just smarter" without explaining what's actually better about photos from the SD variant compared to the Exynos. Then in conclusion he also talked a bit more about exposure and noise yet he didn't dig into any details, then moved on. That's not a "fact", but his mere opinion.
Here's more proper analysis on camera quality between the two variants.. probably the most detailed comparison on the internet. You can just read the conclusion to get the idea but if you have a doubt then you can inspect the full res photos as you wish.

"First of all, there are very obvious processing differences between the Snapdragon and Exynos models this year. While on the S10 series this was in favor of the Snapdragon, I feel the other way around for the S20 series as the sharpening on the S20 Ultra here has gone absolutely haywire on all the cameraÂ’s modules, going beyond what one would consider an improvement of picture quality into the realm of actually being detrimental to the picture. The Exynos variant here seemingly has no sharpening processing at all, and it feels a ton more natural. On the matter of the 108MP picture shots, there’s also very stark differences between the two variants of the phone, and the Exynos model somehow is consistently ahead in terms of the sharpness and natural resolutions of the shots." - Daylight image quality analysis
"ThereÂ’s also some quite large differences in the software processing between the Snapdragon and Exynos phones this year, this time around itÂ’s the Exynos model which is very clearly better in the majority of scenarios as the Snapdragon variant very often blurs out details and textures." - Low light image quality analysis

I'll prefer image processing by Huawei over Samsung anyday. Even Supersaf conclusion thinks P40 are the better one lol.
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2020Obviously I meant software processing and Algorithms. Duh!
You are acting like one, no won... moreIf you really understood what you were saying then you would've never said "Nonabayer" processing in the first place because that's not what it really is. Using the term in that context immediately exposed that you didn't have any idea of what you were talking about.
You know, if you hadn't said "Obviously" it wouldn't have looked like you were trying to make a poor excuse.
Anyway, here's the main part. A few days ago I made a super-lengthy comment defending Samsung against one Sony fan who claimed Samsung's display shouldn't be called the best display due to the lack of 4K resolution. I'm surprised that you didn't come out at that time and said that I was making an "excuse" for Samsung or being a "Samsung fanboy". I praised & defended other brands (e.g. Oppo, Xiaomi, Apple) in many, many of my other comments too, but it seems that you have a problem with me only when I'm talking about Huawei. I'm sorry to say this but a hater of one brand can't call other person a fanboy of the brand, so go deal with your own bias first before name-calling others, yeah?
Finally, what the heck am I supposed to do about this 25 minutes camera comparison video? Should I watch everything and speak my overall impression to you wasting another 45 minutes of my time in the process, because I don't really feel like doing it right now. Just out of curiosity, I jumped onto the zoom section of the video and it seems that it's mostly in line with what you and I said about each phone's zooming capability. Or is there any other point you're trying to make? What do you want, seriously?

It's a different sto... moreI agree with your assessment for the most part, but if there's something else to add that will be dynamic range. HDR is more effective on S20 Ultra for the telephoto lens but P40 Pro+ wins for the main camera. Colours on telephoto lens are debatable since P40 Pro+ seems to be underexposing the zoom photos so severely that colours get distorted, and I'm fairly certain this will be addressed by future software update.
Also, this year Exynos variant performs a lot better when it comes to camera performance. SD variant oversharpens the image to the level everything looks extremely cartoonish during the day.. and it sucks a ton.
gogu, 14 Jun 2020sold my s10 and bought a p40 pro after being with samsung for 10 years.
Best decision ever, ... moreOf course S10 won't have same battery life as P40pro. One must be a stupid to think so.
P40pro has much bigger battery.

It's a different story that P40 pro+ loses it's color from 10x zoom(probably earlier than 10x).
So, can't say P40 pro+ is better overall. Probably the color issue might be fixed in the final software update.
About the main camera. Daytime is almost same.
About Night they are also close(P40 pro+ better overall) if compared to Qualcomm S20 ultra.
If it's an Exynos version, Pro+ is a clear winner.
JDK, 14 Jun 2020108MP sensor for ultrawide or video purposes?
Neither I believe.
108MP sensor means small pixel size(there are also disadvantages of binning video).
And 108MP(possibly the priciest sensor) as a ultrawide isn't a good idea either not counting that making ultrawide lens for this big sensor is almost impossible.
So, Rumor is referring to Main sensor.
Though you can be pretty sure that the sensor of Mate 40s will be same as P40s.
No company changes their main sensor this early. It's a good sensor. Why would they change it ?
Possibly Huawei will use the same 50MP sensor next year too.
Anonymous, 15 Jun 2020Yes there is no color uniformity on cameras on p40 pro+ compared to S20 ultra.
The Ultra woul... moreThere's nothing to "improve" on the hardware binning, what it does is literally adding up the signals from 9 neighbouring pixels and treating as 1. That's it. Software update may improve post processing (which Samsung hasn't been really keen to work on) but doesn't fundamentally change how the data is read from the sensor.
"Only advantage p40 pro+ has was at 30x zoom"
This is a blatant lie and I honestly can't believe a person like you was criticising me for acting like a "fanboy". Talk about the pot calling the kettle black ffs.

The Ultra would continue to get better as nona Bayer algorithms improve.
Only advantage p40 pro+ has was at 30x zoom.
At 10x, S20 ultra was less sharp but retained great colors.
Plus video through telephoto camera is way superior on the Ultra as well as on main cameras.
Anonymous, 15 Jun 2020The p40 pro plus camera already got beaten by S20 ultra by the way check the camera comparison... morereally??? What YouTube channel was that? And what planet does it operate from?
I don't know, it's not got the Google eco system to join others in it. Because the Chinese and Americans don't get along. Countries could let Americans do the spying outside their country, and stick to spying inside their own countries. American companies are happy with that. Then America would let them have more contracts.
Besides, video camera features on mobile phones really suck. It needs 1/2 inch + sensor, fast aperture liquid lens like the old galaxy note 4?, 300mb/s+, 8k, 12bit+, flat grading option, and done buttons for filming and adjustment. Even LG V60 makes most video camera phones embarrassed, it even has good audio input options, log, and storage options. One of those gimbal sensors too.
