Love to see Samsung grapheme battery and oppo supervooc charger.
Best of both worlds.
AnonD-909757, 03 Jul 2020Wait...Isn't USB C limited to 100W ?
Or is it only for USB Power Delivery ?That 100W limit is only for USB PD.
Xiaomi probably using 4 cells with their existing 30W fast charging system to give 120W to prevent all that heat.
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2020That is obvious. Only ppl that come here to hate on brands like Apple, Sony, LG and Google... moreThe obvious thing is that you can't digest the fact that your phone can't do any more than outdated 18W charging while with updates, your battery will be slowed down and degraded further on purpose.

Think smartphone chargers are at a stupid point. A decade ago gaming laptop chargers were 120-180w and we used those watts to the fullest, but charging a battery? I get it if it's an e-bike, ev or something that has a capacity that can run a home for more than a few hours, but a smartphone battery? I'm sorry to disappoint you but if you can't go that hour or so your phone is dead and you see no charging port in sight then you should rethink your life in general.
Strawhat, 03 Jul 2020What is your phone?Mi Note 10.
It charges fully in just over an hour, but the reality is that unless I am at an airport between flights, I usually just plug it in overnight. The Mi Note 10 used to be in the 50%+ range at the end of the day, now it's usually in the 30%+ range. This is why I am wondering if these fast chargers shorten the life of the battery.
[deleted post]Nice troll 😅
Because the article has mentioned that it may be used for notebooks only, and USB-C only goee up to 100W. Thunderbolt, on the other hand, can even go more than 200W in gaming laptops.
For laptops with Thunderbolt.

Mediatek sux, 03 Jul 2020Its power delivery limit. Dell has usb c adapters over 100w.Oh, okay, that's impressive that a connector with contacts so little and close to each other without insulators can take 100w or more !
Erandi, 03 Jul 2020Future iPhone 12 buyers will be first buyers of this innovative charger. Not me, I like slow or standard charge speed, I top my iPhone up every night even if it’s barely used the battery, but I don’t use battery hogging apps or settings so I rarely use even 40 percent battery per day
i even think 40w is too fast for battery life
i bought a second 22w charger for my p40 pro as i want to keep it at least 2 years without much battery degradation , i'm using the 40w charger only in exceptional situations

And you don't have to be a prophet telling that your S6 Edge's battery also got worse over the years compared to day one of usage.

If you want your battery to live longer simply don't use such a fast charger which is that fast but use a power brick which is capped at 10-18W.
