I feel sorry for those who lost their jobs due to the restructuring efforts that RIM did. I really do.
I hope RIM will stike back with their BB 10, and I do hope and pray that they will make it through until they release that whole brand new OS.
Then hopefully RIM will be back to the game, and lots of people will get their jobs back.
I just can't get it why some people want RIM to go bankrupt, only because they dislike BB.
I am not a fan of Apple, but I clearly don't want Apple to go bankrupt, 'cause it will mean lots of people will lost their jobs.
Those people who are happy bashing on a once good company struggling to survive - *sugh* I think they're just pure evil.
rim made the same mistake as nokia. they both thought that what made them succesfull 3 years ago can keep on doing this. this is why samsung is a top brand, not beacause it's more skillfull but more adjustable. and don't forget that blackberry have a catastrophic value for money...
This financial results will have a severe impact on business customers (most important customer group of RIM...).
stop manufacturing of own devices and focus on licencing your (still) superior security SERVICES to other software suppliers (Google, Microsoft, Apple) and sell your brand (blackberry) to a Chinese manufacturer (zte...), sell your hardware patent portfolio to the highest bidder...
This way ar least parts of the company might survive...
Cicero86, 29 Jun 2012What do u mean it's losing?! i just bought my first curve and i liked it, & i'm planning t... moreEnjoy your curve, if that model suites your needs just use it. Blackberry is going down but i'm sure it won't gonna die soon as other's are expecting. I am also sure that they have a back up plan,at the same time I'm also dissapointed that the BB10 won't release this fall.
I also use my Curve most of the time than my iPhone. I'am very much comfortable with the multi tasking of BB, I don't care what others say. It's their problem anyway not mine hahaha.
It's best if RIM and Nokia have a joint-venture. Then they'll surely be able to compete with others.
i can't help but smile after reading this.
bb is going down. all the way down if they wont do something about it. honestly, i dont like bb phones and i have good reasons to do so.
they wont be around anytime soon uness they "WAKE UP".
Issue No1 for RIM: their phones are too pricey. Lower the prices people, your products are just too expensive comparing to what they offer.
It's interesting how every time there is a wave of mobile revolution the old players drop off.
The first wave was when Siemens, Ericsson, Phillips and others dropped off, yet RIM, Nokia and HTC emerged.
Now it's Apple, Google, Microsoft and Samsung, while RIM and Nokia are sinking, HTC isn't doing that well either.
RIM should learn from Nokia and MS.
They released a half-baked un-upgradable useless phone. Still they behave like they do care about the users.
Why can RIM do that!?
Eitherway, they won't be around year 2013.
I have a sincere suggestion for RIM...
Sit back, take your time and think about selling yourself to the greats like, Apple or Google provided they are ready to buy you...
RIM you can't keep delaying some product forever, Remember the old adage (TIME AND TIDE WAITS FOR NONE) by the time you release BB10, I am 100% sure there will be more sophisticated, much technologies, so think well and consider selling yourself to a more capable and financially stable company
But this is just my view as a BB user for last 2 1/2 years
For me blackberry phones are good but the biggest problem of this company is there software support, in there phones they do not release any software updates, I have a bb9790 which I bought January 2012 made in Taiwan with a defective software return it twice to no avail I open bb desktop many times there is no software update even only the same latest software for bb9790 for Asia model for a reflash but I can not found one. bb does not gave support to there customers , They only pay attention in there sales....
Too little, now way too late. Love my 9810 Torch, but pushing BB10 to next year will cost them even more people. I was holding off my upgrade to see BB10, now I may not.
BB i know its to late but you should have gone to bed with nokia and bought out Palm and and then both of you could have gotten an operating system that was a winner from the start and then attract samsung and LG to license it as well .
hmmmmm what could have been
RIM should pragmaticly ignore other things than their 2 strong points, i.e. BBM and good hardware build quality. The OS and network connection mechanism are main weak points, so they should choose Android OS.
RIM had this coming. I work for contact center and people call about blackberry problem all the time. specially when blackberry services went down last october. very lousy.
Yuckberry is sucky phone.. takes forever to load..unlike ultra fast boot time of htc..
how can you read emails on a small screen???
bbm and push email?? android has all that..at no extra cost
RIM should have realized earlier that touchscreen phones are the future..not those tiny buttons on a qwerty keyboard that takes forever to compose an email..
It seems that they got off to a good start with the business market, but failed to evolve and compete against the giants like Android and iOS.
Great shame, don't want to see just two key players in the market.
