Anders, 16 Jan 2021I fully support the bans on Huawei and ZTE as they make telecommunications infrastructure equi... moreIn that case they could simply ban Huawei and ZTE infrastructure from their country. No reason to have restrictions on their end user equipment any more than there is to for Xiaomi

Swordman, 16 Jan 2021People should only support the Huawei ban to a certain extent. 1. USA should not be forcin... moreYup, its just like giving eviction notice to a very bad tenant. He will destroy and shit on everything before moving out. Just like what will happen here, it will take several months and a whole lot of hearings just to overturn this. Trump wants his supporter to know that even on his last days, he was thinking about the Us economy, which in fact only was just saving his own stocks.

1. USA should not be forcing allies to not use Huawei's equipment, it should be their own choice.
2. Banning Google services on Huawei is overkill, they are trying to destroy the company, nothing related to national security.

Blacklisting Xiaomi which is not even making 5g infrastructure like huawei or anything remotely major, jus shows Trump is just trying to screw everything up before handing it over to Biden to clean up. And if Biden does not reverse the ban, it just shows USA is anti- competitive.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2021Pathetic Trump again doesn't like competition True, he knows that once Xiaomi will enter the north america market, it will really disrupt the duopoly of Apple and Samsung. Just imagine that a 400 usd phone could go toe to toe with 1000 usd apple phone. - fake news, its not possible. haha.

But forcing US allies to not use Huawei's equipment should not be necessary, they should have the free choice whether they want to use Huawei's equipment or not. And banning the Google services on Huawei is just a dick move, they are out to destroy the company, not protecting their national security.

The rest of the world should blacklist Cisco...for placing all these convenient backdoors (proven!) in their software and for their undeniable ties to the U.S. military.

Why would you hope that these bans will be overturned until changes are made on the Chinese side? Perhaps you are too young to remember what was like where you are based only four decades ago?

China is a totalitarian state conducting an ever-increasingly belligerent policy against its neighbors and the liberal democracies. It routinely bans foreign companies for political reasons, and it actively engages in unfair trade and both political and technological espionage. It's an oligarchy where businesses are required to closely assist with military and intelligence operations and endeavors, or their leadership gets replaced. What's wrong with you?
