Greedy MS is AGAIN profiting of the back of the Open Source community. So why don't we I'm the Linux/Android community design I ur OWN file system. If its compatible with what's out there now, great. If not still better. Design with security in mind. And speed. Then patent and LOCK DOWN everything so Apple and Microsoft don't get to do to this what the Two did to XEROX back Jn the 70s with XEROX' GUI.
I hope you have a version with 32GB of storage and a great camera. Even if it is 8MP, but it is the best 8MP camera. I hope that Google will not let me down this time. And coming to Brazil as soon as possible!
Nexus products are designed to be as cheap as possible and to pump Google services (such as drive cloud storage), as well as serve as the official developer platforms for Android OS (part of why they have to be relatively cheap).
An SD-Card slot would require Google pay licensing fees to various companies, including MS (for FAT32/exFAT). No Nexus product has an SD-Card slot, and no Nexus product ever will.
I would expect two variations on internal storage: 32gb and 64. But i think im dreaming. Almost sure its going to be 16 and 32gb instead.

it is a developers phone, nothing more, nothing less
Full HD screen to watch your full HD videos on, better camera, HD games. Nice. But a platry 16GB to save your HD stuff? Seriously? The next iteration better have a microSDHD slot.
AnonD-8044, 30 Sep 2013Your right . All what folk are saying here is we want an amazing gadget you may as well get... moreDude, u don't know what the hell ur talking about... Nexus phone have always had huge support from great developers teams, nexus phones never die man.. Check out xda, ull see what I mean. I am soooo getting this phone , I just sold my atrix HD ith a smile on my face Lol :D
Actually, the Xiaomi Mi3 is still better with similar price both devices.
I will be staying on my Nexus 4. Even though it does suck that I don't have LTE, and not having the greatest battery, it still more then gets the job done for me. The point for me getting N4 was to have a long lasting phone. Nexus 5 is tempting to buy though :p
AnonD-8044, 30 Sep 2013Absolutley boring whats special about it ,its just the same as all the others.Nexus are suppos... moreWrong. Nexus phones are made for Developers to develop apps for the next generation of Android on. That's why they're so cheap and why the camera always sucks. Because it doesn't matter. Its a throwaway phone that developers can brick to code on.
I think the only reason Google built this was to do away with the glass back and provide LTE. That's all.

All what folk are saying here is we want an amazing gadget you may as well get s4 and get rid of touchwiz but you gain sd slot and lots more..
Android updates for Nexus with its pure Android experience is not guaranteed some network locked devices were getting latest updates first..The updates do what tho really,,the N5 will come with KITKAT what else can they do its only add on's basic AndroiD is basic Android,,they do some adjustments to colour scheme and camera and call it new O/S upgrade you can do this with apps.
I see no advantage of Nexus 5 over any other top end device in fact its a huge downgrade..Nexus is dead.
Absolutley boring whats special about it ,its just the same as all the others.Nexus are supposed to be Googles flagship show off smartfone..If it had fold out screen or slide out qwerty or 1000 FPS 4k VIDEO RECORD or something but this is one big YAWN.
I would buy it on first day if its below 380$ but I expect 2.0 MP front cam
troller, 30 Sep 2013Poor specificationa..not so happy.4.97" inches screen only? Still 8mp camera? Its the era... moreDo you really think there is any perceivable difference between a 4.97" screen and a 5" screen?
