I know. What are the chances of this thing ever making a difference? How much electricity can it actually save? Power plants still produce more the same emissions unless people stop using power hungry devices like irons or computers which is very hard. Plus, what are the chances of people actually changing? This is NOT going to make any difference. One more thing to consider is market share. How many people are actually going to buy this phone? People in developing countries will just settle for cheap phones like those old, monochrome Nokias. Also, this may not be up to the taste of some people. Like me. Some people like me don't like blue. Overall, the total market share wouldn't be that big and it wouldn't make a difference at all. People have to see and think deeply and consider lots of things before considering things a great idea or not. I really thought this was a really good idea but once you think about it, it's not that great. It wouldn't make such a difference.

This phone is prolly one of the smartest moves that any phone company could make. I work at a phone company and I love nokia and samsung and samsung seem to be one step ahead of them atm, I own the i900 Omnia but if this phone came out over here I'd buy it

            well done Samsung,

The only problem with Samsung is the software. They make good hardware. Good electronics but bad software. If they fix this they'll be able to make almmost perfect phones.

I think al gore is a hypocrite since he travels in his own private jet and takes limos. It's to inconvienent for him to do otherwise! (an inconvienent truth)

Allan, the world is changing! it has not changed yet! it's a process that if not stoped it will have serious consequences for the whole planet in the future, and your Canada will no longer reach the temperatures you have mentioned. If you invest your time in researching and studying (or traveling) you will see that the changes are already huge in many parts of the world...

That's cool. I don't like the idea of enviromant friendly because the rich, the too rich people don't give a damn and the poor always have to save the enviroment.

Red_Capitalist, 14 Feb 2009i have a most usefull idea, if a company want to create a eco-friendly phone, researching a sy... moreIt might augment the power generation in a phone but such biomovement systems really only work for watches - they need large movements (eg your arm) to generate any real power, and watches are such low power consumers that it's practical. I think it would be a waste of space in a phone.

If you're really concerned about the environment then keep your desktop computer off as much as possible. The solar power idea is good (but not practical), but the "saving trees" CO2 thing is a waste of time. Being made of recycled materials is the most eco-friendly thing the phone can claim.
