Samsung Rumors

Samsung launched the original Galaxy SmartTag in 2021, and the SmartTag2 in 2023. Now it seems like it's almost ready to release the SmartTag3, but this will come with a twist.

According to the leaked illustrations you can see below, the next Galaxy SmartTag will have a new, squircle-like shape. That said, it doesn't seem to have a built-in lanyard hole, so you may need to buy separate cases to attach it to your keys.

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy SmartTag3 to have a new shape

There's apparently a button in the center, similar to the one on the original SmartTag. Pressing it could help you find your connected Galaxy phone, and double-pressing it may trigger an automation you set up using Modes & Routines.

The Galaxy SmartTag3 should have Bluetooth, UWB, as well as an IP rating for dust and water resistance. Obviously, it will come with Samsung Find integration. It's unclear when the Galaxy SmartTag3 will become official, but it may arrive alongside the Galaxy Buds On, the new ear hook style earbuds, and the Galaxy S26 FE in early September.

It's good they change things, would be great if they add some basic functions such as being able to execute a routine when the tag gets away from the phone in case one is loosing their keys.

Squircle is without a doubt critical to Samsung’s brand identity. I highly recommend Samsung to change their camera lens shapes to Squircles as well. (If not the lens itself, then the housing of the lens. Similar to what the base model “Vivo IQ...
