Huawei HarmonyOS Announcement

Huawei’s Pura 90 series got a new member in China today with the Pura 90 Plus. It slots in between the Pura 90 and Pura 90 Pro, featuring a Kirin 9025 chipset and a 1-inch type sensor with an f/1.4-4.0 variable aperture.

The 50MP main sensor is joined by a 48MP telephoto lens with up to 4x optical zoom. The tele lens also doubles as a macro shooter and features an f/2.1 aperture. The third module on the back is a 13mm equivalent 40MP ultrawide lens.

Pura 90 Plus brings a mix of the Pura 80 Pro’s rounded frame with the more expressive colorways seen on the rest of the Pura 90 series. Pura 90 Plus is available in Sunset Purple, Dawn Gold, Snow White, and Obsidian Black.

Outside of the fancy colors, the phone is built around a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED with a 2,848 × 1,276 px resolution and a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate. The panel is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass and features a 13MP front-facing camera housed inside a punch-hole cutout.

Huawei equipped the Pura 90 Plus with its Kirin 9025 chipset - an overhauled version of the Kirin 9020 from the Pura 80 series with a claimed 20% increase in performance. The chip is paired with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB or 1TB storage.

On the software side, we have HarmonyOS 7 complete with Huawei’s Celia voice assistant. The phone also boasts IP68/69 ingress protection, satellite connectivity and a 5,700mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Pura 90 Plus starts at CNY 5,499 ($825) for the 256GB storage trim and goes up to CNY 6,999 ($1,050) for the version with 1TB storage. Open sales in China start on October 31.

As much as I love seeing 1" camera sensor on smartphones, I'm more interested with the Kirin 9025 chip.

Only you are obsessed with sales. I'm obsessed with which is the superior product. And the iPhone will always be inferior to an Oppo/Vivo flagship.
