I absolutely love this phone. I've had it for almost 2 weeks now, and I've been testing it almost every single day.
First and foremost, it's definitely something that you can slip into your jeans pocket because it's slim enough. It's also light enough. So is it portable? Yes.
Resolution is excellent and the default brightness is at 50% so if you can modify this to your liking.
Many freewares are now compatible with this phone, but in many cases, softwares that work with Nokia 5800 and N97 are also compatible with the Nokia 5530.
That said, the Nokia 5530 is definitely for anyone on a budget, and it is commonly compared to the Nokia 5800 & N97.
Simply install Google Maps and this phone transforms into a GPS device.
Main connectivity features: WAP, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
Kinetic scrolling is an absolute plus as well, something the 5800 doesn't have (which is weird because I would consider it a basic feature for any touchscreen phone).
Anonymous, 09 Oct 2009Can u tell me wat is this tactile feedback and how is it related to the loose back cover problem???it's the vibration of the phone in response to the touch on the screen, it has three levels of vibration..
since the backcover of all 5530 units are wobbly type, it feels like it is not tight, the tactile feedback make the feeling worse, the vibration makes it very uneasy...
we can use a piece of paper or cloth to make the cover tight and enjoy the tactile feedback without any discomfort..
Can anyone tell me the model no. of the sennheiser headphone supplied with nokia 5800????
1=its Fast mobile...best and better than the stupid old 5800 plastic phone.and also its UI is better than the new n97...the 5530 Camera quality is amazing...believe me or not but 5530 camera is best from the stupid old 5800 carl zeiss..and last 5530 is the best mobile..now i think nokia knows how to build the best touch mobile..the old 5800 by nokia was a big mistake and now nokia giving 5800 with free headset....bcz its market value will going to be low in next 1 or 2 months..

Such a cool phone..
hi for those who have the phone.. is the back cover problem serious and present in every phone?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 19705530 is best apart from not having GPS, 3G, TVout and carl Z's lense.... 5530's camera is excelent video recording is excelent price is reliable. performance is super. but the best part is its touch quality.. kinetic screlling is best it will give u smooth scrolling like iphone. 95% of phone can be handeled without stylus. Screen size is also good.. 3.2 and 2.9 only make set look bigger.. 2.9 display is excelent. it is a 100% touch. even the end and recieve buttons along with menu button are all touch. i will give it 9/10 rating.. the only thing is the lack of DivX player, which cannot be installed due to licence issue.. smart move is good and all but it is software based so the movie performance is very minutely laggy but exceptable... over all very good phone for multimedia emails messages and especially internet..
Just bought this phone a month ago from Singapore. It works really nice, the touch screen is more sensitive than the 5800 Xpress Music (after using my friend's 5800). The 5530 is thinner and has a smaller screen than the 5800. Still, I like it, looks quite sophisticated for a XpressMusic phone. The earphones included is really nice, sounds great and has a really nice bass.. All in all, its a really nice phone and worth every penny. Did i forget to mention that its cheap and you can download any application you want made easy through the Noka OVI.
Just got my black 5530-XM in Cambodia, costing 218 USD. It's a version with English and Chinese (traditional and simplified). My first impression is, as GSMARENA said in their review, the back cover is not quite stable. I will share some more impressions after I used it for two weeks.
for 5530 u can drag the back ground to scroll contact or music etc.. 5800 cant
well, i am swithing to 5530 size more comfortable than 5800. I can add memory and talktime dossent bother me.
