the problem about ringtone occurs in my piece aiso and appears to be a software problem.the same thing happens if wallpapers are selected from the mmc.however solution for the present is to move that perticular ringtone/wallpaper from mmc to phone memory and it works fine.
I also have problems with assigning ringtones from the memory card. With a call it is reset to the Nokia tone.
Strangely, it only happens with my two 256 MB MMCs, it works fine with the 32 MB. Also there is no problem as long as the headset is connected.
Since the phone is brand new I wonder if it's a general fault and if it's worth exchanging it for another exemplar? Is there anyone who doesn't have those problems?
can someone tell me please if the java appliacations from 6230 work on 6230i?..
ive owned the phone for just one week and despite many critisms listed on these pages its been absolutely fantastic! couldn't think of one thing i'd change, save perhaps its dated external appearance,
This phone has given a big problem when i received for the very beginning-there was not light at all, all black out.So, now i am waiting for my replacement and I have been waiting for a week.Though, I was offered by the shop proprietor to switch to other models of phone like Nokia 6230 or Nokia 7610.Should I stick to my Nokia 6230i or go for Nokia 6230 or Nokia 7610 which is very popular, and can be seen every where you go.Thank you..
to sincronize with a pc :
1.works great with win xp + sp1--->usb 2.0
2.install driver for usb 2.0
3.install driver for cable dku-2 or dku-5(go to nokia.com and search it)
try it yourself it's very easy
Alo.. Can anyone help me ...why my earphone (handfree) cant used?Cant hear any sound when i play radio...mp3..thank
Video hang: If I use Nokia's 64Mb MMC card, video always hang. But it rarely hangs when I use Apacer 512Mb MMC card. So, Maybe it's the quality of the MMC card, not the phone. Oh, also avoid pressing too many buttons when the video starts. Let it run for a few seconds before pressing anything... (these are my personal observation, so, I cant guarantee anything).
Ringtone: From my learning in 6230, I always put (or Move) the ringtone that I use to the phone memory, NOT the MMC. I never trust the extra'route' of the phone having to go to MMC to select the ringtone because when someone calls, it's a split-second operation. So, always use the phone memory for ringtone.
PC Synch: I can't help on this - too many variables that could fail a PC-link. I did not face this problem thru IR and BT.
The Nokia N-Series will cost 3 times the Nokia 6230i. So if you think you can afford it then no question of buying 6230i. Another thing is that the release of the N series is expected in the second quarter of 2005 and in India it will release even later. So if you really need to buy a phone at once then go for the 6230i. Thats it.
6230i is full of features & functionalities, too kool. shall i get this or wait for new N70 ?!! im in india..any updates or comments ??
I have recently got this phone as I have known that nokia phone r very stable. But i have been having alot of problems if someone could plz help me out
1)Firstly my videos hang and the phone seem to do a reset. Is this a problem that tha phone has.
2)If i set a music file from my mmc card(512 or 64Mb) as my ring tone After I receive a call or after some time if i get another call the ring tone goes back to the default nokia ring tone and it can be very irritaing.
3)lastly can someone help me out I am not able to synchronize my phone with the computer using the PC suite.
I've just bought this phone and pass my Nokia 3230 to my wife. Both phones are great!
However, I heard that there's a way to transfer the games downloaded to the Application Folder to the Games folder. Could someone help!
Zitron set should have a Zitron sticker under the battery, on the charger and headset. On the box, no Zitron sticker. You will also get some documents of warranty as well as Nokia M'sia invitation card (something like that). I suggest you going to "Mobile World" forum for this as they have a Zitron guy in the forum.
Despite so many issues I read, my 6230i has been working 100% fine since day 1 - in fact my old 6230 too was working fine which I hv sold off. My wife's 6230 is also perfect from day one, and she's still using it till today.
The 6230i, by many miles, is a GREAT phone. Hardware wise - perfect! On the software side, I do have a list of feedback to make the 6230i a BETTER and GREATER phone:
1) Smaller font please (for Note, To-do, SMS, Web Browser). See 6230 as benchmark!
2) Scrap the control configuration for Radio and Music Player. A direct control button using the navi-button is the best way. See 6230 as benchmark!
3) 'SEND' button when viewing files in the gallery should be mapped to sub-menu "send via IR, BT or Multimedia'... NOT just 'multimedia.
4) Galley quick link navigation e.g. "Save To"... change it back to "Open". See 6230 ver. 3.25 as benchmark.
5) Menu navigation should be faster. See 6230 as benchmark!!
6) BLUETOOTH MENU should be available for the "Right Button" shortcut. See 6230 as benchmark!!
These inputs could bring the near-perfect 6230i to PERFECTION!
everywhere i read about this Nokia 6230i, i can only find bad things... i have a question...does nokia do something to improve the quality of this phone? i will try it tomorow... all i can say for now... beautyfull design!!! and a very good camera! i hope my batery will last longer then other ...hope so...:)
