Quesation for everybody who already has this phone:
Q:How long does the battery lives?
After my first charge, mine lived just ~12hours. I mention that I used the radio, camera, GPRS and I talked for about 1 hour. Is this good or bad for this phone?
I work for vodafone and have been told to expect on 24th April.....however what you need to keep in mind is that we will only recieve a limited stock so there is no guarentee you will get one !
Phone will be released mid-may, SG price $598 (2 year contract) and SG price $698 (non contract basis), approx values, price to be confirmed by operators at the end of this month.
Phone will come attached with 64MB MMC card as compared to the 32MB that came with the 6230.
Hi all, I plan & awaiting to own a 6230i or 3230 but seems like some users feedback that camera bad lah, software problem etc. Wonder I should change my mind, but I only keen on this 2 models....
I got this phone in Romania , too. Alex, can you tell me what colour is yours? I have the black and grey one and I heard that this is the only one available. Is this true?
Just tested one of the first 6230i phones in Romania. The phone is quite pretty, but the pictures taken by the camera looks realy bad, compared to 6670, 7610 or 6630.
Hi, Ive been eagerly waiting for this model for over two months now. Last month when I contacted Vodafone, they told me that it would be available on 14th April. However, when I phoned this morning to order one, the lady at Vodafone said it wont be available until 18th May!!!! So as you can see, there is already a variety of conflicting advice. Is there anyone out there (read, anyone who works at Vodafone) who can tell us when it will be released.
Also, I will take this opportunity to say what a great phone I think it is. My mate has got the base model 6230, and even that is a sound bit of kit. Small in size, big in features (ie you can make calls and text!!) What more does one want??
Here's an Interesting thought - Out of all the saddo, geeks that whine about phones with inferior MP3's and camera's etc, I wonder how many of these actually have an interest/understanding of music/photography and fashion?? Answer - probably zero! So come on guys/girls, Get a life, a phone is a phone. Lets not get upset eh??
hi i got confusion which one is better nokia 6230i or 6630 or the awarder samsung d500 pls rply which one better.BUT i nokia lover

And the t9 on it is the same as any other nokia ive every used! sleek and good looking with a cool camera (i think) watch this space! this PHONE WILL BE EVERYWHERE. THUMBS UP
spoke to vodafone here in the uk a few mins ago and they said 6230i will be available 22nd april from them.
just for info they also said
samsung e720 - 29th april
nokia 6680 - 3rd may
even though these 2 phones are avail already elsewhere in the uk!!
(((About T9: I never use it, to me it is not practical. So it does not bother me.
I don't understand how statements like "this phone sucks" add any value for others considering to buy this phone. An elaboration would be nice.)))
YOUR WRITE IS CORRECT & I PARTICIPATE YOU

Another point I want to make. This is a business oriented phone (6000 series). In my opinion it has (nearly) all the business features, a camera cannot be considered a business feature, neither a radio. From this perspective comparing it with e.g. the K750i does not make sense. As a business user, the 6230i would give superb data features. Consider a "business user" with a laptop at the airport: switch on Bluetooth of both devices, use EDGE of the phone, and there is a perfect connection. The multimedia features are there to play with when the user has to spend some time waiting (at the airport for example)!
sorry my nokia hated still exists
if you actually read the review they final note stated frankly that the t9 was very poor...
yet you state that it is a phone and for talking and messaging... why would you include messaging when the t9 is very poor...
more nokia junk for the trash pile of never ending nokia crap pile
Guys remember what we have here is basically a phone. Let us not judge the 6230i for its lack of some features because its intention is really bringing us means of communication such as talk and messaging functions. Whats great is that it has tons of features yet its not considered as a smart phone. It even outperforms some of the smartphones available. I think this is the phone for practical users because all of the basic phone features are there plus a lot of extra multimedia features can be found. This is indeed a good purchase.
Please may an effort to read the reviews and you'd be informed that YES, that's a 1.3mp camera
I jus wanna ask about its camera...is it like 7250i or k700i S.E,coz i m using now a days K700i and i m afraid to buy a mobile which donot have the hight pixels like in K700i :P!!!!!
Please may an effort to read the reviews and you'd be informed that YES, there's a zoom function on the 6230i.
others are right about this phone, it is a mobile phone and not a home theater or digicam...but at least it has almost all the features needed by a mobile phone user, it's compact with all the important features and latest technology...
nothing is perfect in this world so don't expect that phone manufacturers will create the perfect phone...not making a perfect phone is a marketing strategy, so for now, let's be happy that nokia creates phones like the 6230i...
I have spent some time researching the 6230i, K750i and W800i on the Internet, and I am gonna share my thoughts with you. I have been a Nokia user for about 4,5 years, and are up to make a decision on buying a new phone (preferably Nokia)... I think the features are very advanced on the W800i / K750i. The pictures made by the K750i are of a great quality, and SE announced improved sound features. I guess that the improved multimedia features are due to the co-operation with Sony. To me, though, in the end a phone should primarily work as a mobile phone. With this in mind, and the experiences with Nokia, I think the phone quality and data features are better on Nokia's 6230i. So, this must be the trade off: features and size of memory, then SE, quality of phone / data, then Nokia. But, as with other "i" models of Nokia, this model will serve as a bridge between old and new technology. Nokia is most likely preparing for a completely new phone, with all the advanced features (an indication would be the freshly released 8800/8801). I anticipate that Nokia releases a succesor of the 6230i in Q4,2005. Including the Microsoft Media Player features... So, when you decide for the 6230i, it will be outdated at this time next year! What to do?!
