I myself buy E71 when the price is quite high, but with it I can produce some money that already equal (even more) with the money I spent for E71. so in other word, I get my E71 freely.
Imagine if I have to wait to buy it (i.e. 1 year later), I will not get both my E71 and my money right now
Why do we need to carry a heavy phone in your pockets?? The weight for this baby is fine for me!! Just right & perfect!!
Don't be too worried about plastic and all.The most important thing is,this phone rocks!!.It delivers many great applications and all well, for me at least.
No restart problems, great battery life so on.We can never have a perfect phone. There's always a "plus and minus" in all new releases.
If they came up with all the best features that we need,I think the next release will be like 3 - 5 years later.I don't thing we want that to happen right??
Get and buy what you need and don't complain too much :)
fanboy, 30 Nov 2009Hi, how is the in-call voice clarity and volume of the E72? Has anyone faced any problems so ... moreHi there. it all depends on what gsm frequency ure on...Plus the network provider.
Quality should be ace:) rgds take ciao
Quite honestly, I think the only reason the E72 won't be a top seller is the display. The screen size is a bit small and even if the size was the same, at least the resolution should have been improved.
Again, these things are all relative. The E72 disply is still awesome, but when comparing it to the competition, it seems kind of inferior. I'm still buying it though, considering everything else the phone offers.
Damn, the E72 is what the E71 should have been!
Prince, 30 Nov 2009Hi, am a mechanical engineer doing pursuing product design. now please let me clear some detai... morePrince - some greats points you mentioned. Never actually thought about the advantages of plastic over metal. And again let me just mention this - the E72 DOES look great. It may seem a bit inferior when held right next to the E71, but by itself it still looks hot. Especially when it's on and we get to see the new menu icons etc.
Many of my friends who have Blackberrys agree that it E72 looks better than their phones. And the weight factor is another thing...if the E72 were more metallic, the weight would go up. I'm thinking it's fine the way it is.

The point I am making is that E72 software is different, but not superior to E63/E71.
I bought E 72, 24 hours ago and the speed is only a slight improvement.
Also I am having issues with the mail client, vis-a-vis E63. I have called for the dealer's person to come down to help on these issues.
Hi, am a mechanical engineer doing pursuing product design. now please let me clear some details about the material. firstly, Stainless steel s heavy. already e72 weighs 128g. so nokia designers came up with simple solution, plastic. now please understand that plastic is not really bad. especially wen proper grades r used. two major advantages are
1) matt finish will always avoid scratches, no matter wat SS s used, lusterous metals will get scratched.
2) plastic s replacable, ie. if metals r used, mishandling will be a nightmare. a small dent ll look sick and also, the metal ll lose its tightness property.(my friend dropped his e71 once)
to add on, plastic ll break not bend. that means technically, the inner part s safe. SS ll bend which ll lead to damages like impact on battery etc. This s not a review on the phones. Jus thought of clearing a misconception because we ve been working with metals and polycarbonates a lot.
thanks. good luck!!
Shaun, 29 Nov 2009Well, I am a business mobile power-user travelling around the globe and rely on connectivity 2... moreShaun, I believe you are an intelligent business traveller. Why it took you 8 long months to understand Blackberry is a right solution to your problems. Look at you, you have undergone the pains in connectivity in every country you travelled and now you are standing at point where this pain is killing you and you are screaming Blackberry Blackberry with agony. I believe you must rush now and get a Blackberry Pill.
Hi, how is the in-call voice clarity and volume of the E72? Has anyone faced any problems so far in these aspects? Kindly advice.
the excellent investment rule to protect your money from depreciation is to use delayed gratification by waiting for one year before buying a new phone. wait one year after its release - then it has already lost value - why, will you die if you don't buy the e72 now? if the answer is no, then wait until all the defects in the firmware have been corrected and the price has gone down. then you have saved money by using patience. but if you are terminally ill ,then buy the nokia e72 now.
When is the E73 coming? I can't wait! How about the E74 and the E75, E76, E77...
The Consumer Syndrome
Guys i just got my E72 in mumbai.I have installed the Nimbuzz application from OVI store, but when i try connect to nimbuzz it loads contacts and again turns off(the application and not the phone). What could be the reason for this.I am using my WLan to connect.
What is the solution for this?

AllAboutBusiness, 29 Nov 2009Hi guys,
Thank you for your review. I think it is overly enthusiastic but it is very nice to ... morehey man check this out, it might cure ur e72s "lack-of-podcast" syndrom....
I have pre booked the Nokia E 72 from the Nokia Concept Store in Bangalore, India. The price is 20,999 INR> However, I have made a deal with the store people that I can decide to pick up E 71 if I am not satisfied with E 72 after checking it out. Heard lot of shit of E 72 from others!! But still keeping my fingers crossed for E 72!! No doubt E 71 is a masterpiece!! If not E 72, E 71!!
Rajesh, 29 Nov 2009Bravo David, very right comments. I agree every word of what you have picturised about E72.

I would like to add and would remind to all reviewers and readers here what I said about 4 days ago : Nokia has made E72 a exact replica of E63. Hold E63 and E72. They look exactly exactly exactly the same. You can say they are twins with one being rich and another poor. E72 is rich because it has a metal touch to it, whereas E63 looks poor with plastic finish.
Please check them yourselves and decession will be instant if E72 make is even near what E71 is. But again E72 will ultimately win with its built in features and new software. Cheers.
I finally checked out the E72 at a store today (in India). Basically the conclusion is this: E72 is an awesome phone for those who do NOT currently own an E71. It looks great, is fast and has amazing features.
But here's the thing with E71 owners: these guys obviously fished out a lot of cash to buy their phone within the last 18 months, and most probably bought it only within the last year. It's pretty obvious that an UPGRADE needs to be significantly better to make them pay again for such a phone...not sure the price where most of you guys are, but here in India it's almost Rs 23,000.
Those who compare the phone to the E71 will immediately mention the look of the phone. It's funny how practically all the reviews say the same thing.."Nokia have kept the looks the same...E72 has the same appearance as its predesessor...blah blah blah". YEAH RIGHT! Honestly, I read the comments here and thought there can't be much of a difference. Then I went to the store today and held both phones side by side. The difference is amazing. The quality of material used in the E71 is way more impressive. Look at the part right under the keypad and the backside of both phones..the E71 looks much more metallic and shiny. I'm guessing Nokia had to settle for cheaper material similar to what was used in E63; if they used the E71 material for the E72, the price would've been even more!
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is this: for the non-E71 owners, please don't be influenced by negative comments here! Most people who post here own the E71 and are dissapointed with the E72 (and with good reason). If you don't currently own an E-series device or even a smartphone, the E72 is an excellent choice. Buy the E72 instead of E71, because as far as specs go, the E72 is miles ahead. I would recommend waiting for maybe a month or so and then buy the E72. That way, any bugs/problems would get sorted out by then.
For the record, I currently have a 6233 which I've been using for almost 4 years now. I was thinking of getting an iPhone, but in India we really can't make use of all the iPhone features/apps so I scrapped that idea. Just got an iPod touch 64 GB and am planning on buying the E72 sometime in Jan. Can't wait!
