[deleted post]Even together those manufacturers don't sell as many phones as Nokia does. There are lots of little things that you can find only on Nokia phones.
The camera on N8 is good example. It isn't just the biggest number on the spec sheet. It is actually the very best camera on a phone. Nokia spent time and effort on the sensor and optics, even though those can't be shown next to the price tag.
USB OTG is a really awesome feature. The new Nokia Clear Black Display is better than Super AMOLED and OVI Maps is the best navigation package out there.
N8 happened to be the only device out there that had properly programmed SD card interface, so that it could format cards Win7 phones trashed. Something even Windows PC couldn't do. You know why? Because Nokia does things properly. When the phone says SD card support, it actually means the full specification.

[deleted post]thank u for taking those names galaxy n i-phone..bcz those r the phones that beat n8 in every category..exept camera..n also they r very lucky who cant afford to buy(although the price diff of wave n n8 is "just" only 4k approx) or didnt buy n8..bcz some ppl also cant afford to use a 'slow n laggy fone" like n8..
and what phone will u use??A PHONE slightly cheaper but better or a phone having prblms n restarting n hanging now n then??will u buy the higher priced phone to show ur affordibilty only??:O

It is my impression or there are a huge number of Nokia fans that just keep on hitting and put it on the top ranks? iPhone, HTC and Samsung are hugely better than this brand ...

I just gotta an n8 2 weeks back.I just wanna know as to when will the firmware upgrade or the update regarding the browzer and also also the screen lag please do lemme know .

Disappointment in N8.....bought for 2 weeks not even have te chances to load any application. Phone hang while having conversation, after reboot the next think happen is "DEAD".
Not able to recover.....send in for repair ! what the hell is this.

Dear all & Nokia. Can anyone tell me, when Nokia will use at least 1 Ghz prosessor+ 512 RAM & as OS android or megoo ? Cause, if Nokia can use this type of hardwere and software together then all of ur problems will be resolved. Otherwise everybody those who all are the user of Nokia will remain as the victim of Nokia. I know if Nokia do this then the prize of the phone will be a bit high. But who cares for that. Don't u think that people are not buying galaxy S or iPhone ? We will also buy that nice phone. I had a mind to buy N8. But I lost my mind after seeing ur all post. So remaining on my iPhone.

Better than 5800 in performance and few feature wise...requires a firmware update so it could get better... photo and video quality is best so far that i have experienced. Internet browser isn't that friendly.. but opera 10 can solve that problem. good built quality.. new screen is brighter than older Nokia phones...multi tasking and swype is good. audio is loud enough and gps facility is good..

snonre, 22 Nov 2010But seriously mate, hero of sparta looks fine on my unit, lags when there is too much combat though.N8 is more than capable to run the likes of that game,
thing is , this game has been ported, and not specifically coded for symbian^3.. and unlike all other platforms, n8 depends on its capable GPU, while others uses a 1ghz processors :S
when the game is coded properly , it works well, example n4s(and im sure there can be much more improvement there too)

i dont understand what you mean, its the same laggy performance in those videos and i already pasted that second, the whole game is laggy. That commercial the game is not laggy. And it's nothing to do with youtube :) i could understand your point if those real hands on videos was laggy too, so it could be about bad video frame, but tha'ts not the case.
here is by the way N8 user comment: "no it doesn't work like on video its very laggy.
You can see 2 vids on my profile about using N8. The second one is 100% gaming.
I love my N8 and games work on it very great but seriously.. Hero of Sparta is very laggy and its unplayable!
Asphalt 5 also doesn't work perfect but its playable :)

hahahaha you r saying about the quality of hero of sparta 1??its only around 50 mb game..wave is playing hero of sparta 2 hd about 200 mb as smooth as i-phone..nova,sandstorm,gangster hd,zombie infection all r over 150 mb..:)

The more you criticize the N8, the bet... moreThis is a problem phone.Every store i go to,the staff is telling me "software problems".Got a rep of nokia too and he demostrated the N8 wen it died on him .Embarrasing for him as the staff saw that too.The older nokias were great phones.The new phones are super crap.Also very expensive.
BTW...I opt for the LG Optimus one.Fantastic phone.If you in the market for a great handset then check it out.Or any other 2.2 Andriod phone.Not Symbian (Nokia) promblems.

It's all down to the developers to optimize the game for a platform, especially if the game is not originally created for the platform, And knowing Gameloft, they are a bunch of lazy couch potatoes.
There is this game called One created for the N-gage 2.0 (non-hardware accelerated, mind you) platform by digital legends (the same developers that developed Kroll). It had a way better frame rate than Gameloft's brothers in arms which was also created for the n-gage 2.0 platform and brothers in arms had worse graphics!
